Createx wicked yellow with some gold flake mixed in.

Using Createx Wicked colors base White for this. Guide coat is essential but will look pretty rough at first. This paint evens out a lot as it cures and will eventually make a smooth, even surface. 4+ coats are needed for proper coverage. Sprayed with a single action Badger airbrush, 1.2mm tip.

Using Createx Wicked colors base White for the even base coat. Opaque, waterborne, decently fast drying.

CREATEX TO INTRODUCE NEW PRODUCTS AT VEGAS GETAWAY!

The AIRBRUSH GETAWAY is not only the World's leading hands-on airbrush workshop program, but a renowned launching pad for some of the industry's hottest new products.

At the upcoming Las Vegas GETAWAY, February 18-22, at the NEW Tropicana Hotel, CREATEX will unveil two new products that are not yet available to the public: a reducer for WICKED COLORS and AUTO AIR COLORS, and the NEW AUTO-BORNE SEALERS. AUTO AIR 4012 REDUCER and WICKED W500 REDUCER allow colors to flow and cure like never before. Tip-dry is absolutely eliminated, and colors cure to a much harder, flatter, tack-free coating! The new air-cured AUTO-BORNE SEALERS adhere direct to any substrate, including ABS plastic, without the need for an adhesion promoter, and air dry to a sandable coating in under a half hour.

CREATEX will supply all students with their exceptional WICKED COLORS, and their brand new ILLUSTRATION COLORS developed by Dru Blair, AIRBRUSH GETAWAY instructor and extraordinary photorealist. ILLUSTRATION COLORS perform brilliantly straight out of the bottle for razor sharp detail and fine atomization through the smallest of airbrush tip-sizes. The AIRBRUSH GETAWAY is an amazing opportunity to learn the latest, cutting-edge techniques from some of the World's best artists. For more information about the AIRBRUSH GETAWAY, go to www.airbrushaction.com or call 800-876-2472 or 732-223-7878.

many, many passes of Createx Wicked colors. Yellow is a very weak pigment and getting it to look vibrant took forever. Likely won't be using waterborne paints for base coats after this, the urethane is much better at creating an even color and faster to apply/set as well.

My oldest son in front of the main mural in my baby's room. Painted with house paint (the yellow and blue) and an airless sprayer. All the other bits and pieces are with a Paasche Millenium Airbrush and Createx paints during a very cold winter of 2004. The original design is a small piece of wrapping paper (about 2" square).

Bow limbs with a base of Createx Auto Air white paint.

My daughter's favorite T-shirt....POKEMON!

A two layer stencil effect which contains the "Alabama Fur" in a shaped area. This will be a tank top with white and cream spirals covering much of the brown stenciling.

CITY of GOD done on black T-shirt

Growing anxious about impending deadlines, I went from base coat to top coat with Createx Auto-Air colors without giving proper flash time between coats. The result was the base layers never fully cured and they could be peeling off the parts like a vinyl wrap.

Moscow Churches: Item 5833 Plate 582 Foreign Travel Russia Page 350

Eastern Skyline: Item 3120 Plate 450 Page 34

Instructions:

“Carved Statues” was stamped on parchment paper and “Moscow Churches” was stamped on watercolor paper using permanent black ink. Both images were colored with archival markers. “Eastern Skyline” was stamped on Transparency film with permanent black ink and mounted using spray adhesive to a piece of black glossy cardstock I painted with Faskolor paints. Each stamped image was them trimmed to size and mounted to multi mats as shown. The blue mats were created using a corner punch and all the black mats were edged with metallic gold leafing pen. The images were attached to a black card and a metal “Treasures” embellishment was the final addition.

*************************************************************************

Background for skyline was done using Faskolor paints. Faskolor is an Airbrush pint used by model car builders. I used a combination of Faspearl Key Lime, Fasescent Turquoise & Faspearl Razberry for my background. I have also used Createx Airbrush paints when I could not get Faskolor. Most Hobby or craft stores have an airbrush paint section and various companies make them. I prefer pearlized colors and black glossy cardstock is a must to make them pop.

The swirls were achieved by using a paper "kiss" technique. Some glossy papers work better than others with this paint so to be on the safe side I just spray a glossy sealer over my black glossy before starting and let the sealer dry. Next cut the paper in half and drop 15 - 20 drops for paint fairly close to each other close to the center of one piece of the cardstock. (use colors that play nice together) then place the other piece of the black glossy down over the drops so black glossy touches black glossy. With your fingers lightly press from the center out to all sides and then lift bottom corner of the face down cardstock and slowly pull it off the other. Lifting diagonally gives the cool squiggle lines you see in the background sky on my piece. You will now have two mirror image background pieces to work with once they dry. This technique takes a little playing with to figure out how much paint, how much pressure and what colors work best for you. Please remember this is like adult finger painting. It can get messy so protect your work area and your clothes since this paint is permanent.

i've been made aware that i am an idiot.

most of you knew this all along.

about this photo: a 1949 Argus 75 TLR with side-mount flash, shot hand-held through the viewfinder with a Canon 30d 50mm f/1.8.. sure, its not sharp, it has some defects, there's two pronounced reflections, one over her left breast and another just off of her right wrist, that come from the lights i have in my ceiling. but it is what it is, and thats why i like it. as i hope you do as well.... and despite the fact that she is wearing bright silver Createx body paint, i like that there is enough contrast to show her form without being harsh.

most of the TTV-style photos have all been shot with what is called a contraption, which is basically a mount to hold the taking camera over the viewing camera. in that style you lose the camera itself, and i thought it important enough to include it in this one.
