This is a truly rugged and beautiful river with steep banks and big boulders. Most of the Rogue River was declared "wild and scenic" in 1968 by the government and has therefore remained undeveloped and glorious! The Rogue is world-famous for fishing.
The best (and only) way to see it is from a boat. I was worried my pictures might not be sharp taken from a moving boat, but it turned out not to be a problem.
