Red Fox - seen on my walk home from work. This gorgeous fox let me take a few shots before calmly wandering away, it was so beautiful, what a moment! This was in the same spot where I snapped the baby rabbit the other day, no sign of the rabbit!
I managed to capture this while over in Perth, the iconic Crawley Edge Boat Shed.

Probably the most photographed boatshed in Australia, this lovely Perth icon received a major facelift last year.
The existing wooden jetty is nearly 50 years old and will be replaced with new steel pylons. The boatshed will also be repainted, albeit the same shade of blue that has helped it become an icon for Perth and the Swan River. It is owned by former Perth lord mayor Peter Nattrass and his family, who will fund the $48,000 jetty works.
Dr Nattrass said the boatshed had been in the Nattrass family almost constantly since 1941. “I just feel that the least we can do is maintain it in good condition and let the public enjoy it,” he said. “But this’ll last until ... you have great-grandchildren.”
Built in the 1930s and overhauled by the Nattrass family in 2004, the boatshed has seen many changes to Perth. Dr Nattrass said he would often walk out on to the jetty in the 1950s and scoop up four or five blue manna crabs at a time.
“I have not seen one in the last 25 years,” he said. Daughter Edwina said the intention was to preserve the boatshed for future generations. “The Nattrass family is happy to take on that role for the public,” she said.
Since the decision to go blue more than 10 years ago, the boatshed has featured in magazines and social media snaps around the world. It has hosted, among others, former prime minister John Howard and solo yachting stars David Dicks and Jon Sanders. Dr Nattrass said it would reopen to the public in three to four weeks.

One more from the bluebells & fog at Crawley Woods in Hertfordshire.
I think I am all bluebelled out now this year!

Staying in a hotel 200yds from Kensington Olympia, it would have been rude not to pick up the odd evening freight. 59004 leads an rake of empty stone wagons from Crawley to Acton.
From my visit last year to Crawley Woods, the nearly not as famous brother of Dockey Woods just down the road. Outdoor Photography magazine recently used this and the accompanying article as a Viewpoint of the Month.
Not uploaded much here of late, will sort the backlog out soon!

Been really bogged down with computer problems for the last month that has messed up my working and creative workflows. It has really taken the spring out of my step :P.
This shot is from my archive that I thought I would process. Hopefully I can get out shooting soon :D
Thursday AM on the Ashridge Estate, after I'd woken up at 3.30am to check forecasts this seemed like the best place to go.
Thank god there was some fog when I got there!

I'm sure this boatshed over in Perth could tell stories about the many photographers who visit to photograph it. I'm sure there are also plenty of visitors who aren't even fussed on capturing an image, but rather just want to experience an iconic location.
I really enjoy photography and in the last couple of years I have really enjoyed capturing images on film. It comes with it some pro's and cons. Cons as it is costly for every shutter actuation but the pro's are gratification from capturing an image in exactly the same way you pictured it. You don;t get instant gratification so you can only trust that you have composed correctly, metered the scene correctly and then set the settings right. In this scene I was a little slow and the light faded between metering and shutter actuation, but what I really like about it is that it actually looks a little old school and filmy due to the noise introduced from being slightly underexposed and a bit of correction.
Captured on a Fuji G617 with Velvia film.

Another composite image, this time my image of the iconic Crawley Boat Shed (often just called the blue boat shed) and a nice storm cloud from Luminar4. :)

Drove by the Boatshed to get the customary shot while in Perth. There was a NO ENTRY sign hence had to take it with the huge expanse of water and sky behind it.
Well worth the 4.30am wake up call whilst on holidays. The weather was miserable the day before raining on and off all day. I was so close curling back into bed but like always I manage to drag myself out for some photos.
For those of you who don't know where this is, it is Crawley Point Boatshed in Perth, Western Australia. I don't know how I managed to find all these amazing spots but I used flickr a fair bit prior to coming over :) I was going to make the walk to Crawley Point at 4.30am but decided to catch a taxi instead, opting for speed rather than save some money :) Lucky for me I did otherwise I would have missed this wonderful WA sunrise. However I did manage to walk back along the Swan River back to the Mercure Hotel where my wife was just getting out of bed. Then we drove about 6 hours South to Albany stopping along the way for more photos :D Poor wifey!

I went there at 5pm, which was way too early. So I waited till 7pm.
This morning I bought wired remote shutter for my D700 since my last HDR, I have to aligned them because of my shaky hands holding the shutter. Bought it for AUD$50, after negotiating from AUD$60. I know even I managed to get some discount, $50 is still a ripoff. lol. But anyway it worth today's picture.
Enjoy your weekend!
