You can find a lot of thing in Kızlarağası. It is famous place in İzmir. And here a gift shop, a lot of things handmade. And one of it on the way.
Another model which was assembled as part of a display at a regional music festival in August 2022. This is a miniland scale build of the "Craft Headquarters," a wooden shed usually set up adjacent to an area of craft vendors. For decades it served as the distribution point for concert program guides, but a few years ago that changed and very few people got the memo.
i got most of the pictures from this fantastic book :: hare tokidoki hanko by keiko koma. i've had the tools and materials to carve stamps for years but it was just the other day that i pulled them out to create these adorable, customizeable and totally affordable stamps. i'm hooked!
A few days ago I received a copy of "Craft Inc." in the mail, sent to me from Meg Mateo Ilasco. She researched and wrote this book which is a guide for making people to turn their craft into a business. It's a great little book and I am flattered and proud to be included in it along with so many other fantastic and inspiring creators!

My friend says both the spinning and the knitting are perfect to do in 'cooler' temperatures.
She starts spinning in Autumn, and often by the open fire.
Short draw spinning is used to create worsted yarns.
It is spun from combed roving, sliver or wool top.
The spinner keeps his/her hands very close to each other.
The fibres are held, fanned out, in one hand, and the other hand pulls a small number from the mass.
The twist is kept between the second hand and the wheel.
There is never any twist between the two hands.
Spinning the wool, hands again, my fascination ... since they are so expressive, almost as much as a face (?), a means of body language and non-verbal communication, we ‘say’ so much with our hands.
We touch, feel, handle, build and destroy, hurt and caress, kill and heal, make music (noise) and command or pray for silence, our hands can be rough or smooth.
The end product is very pleasing, I love the natural colours.
Sometimes the lady dyes the wool, also with natural dyes.
Characteristics of spun yarn vary according to the material used, fibre length and alignment, quantity of fibre used, and degree of twist.
Have a wonderful day and thank you for your comments... M, (*_*)

While I was packing the Dollies I took the chances of taking pictures I didn't take in the moment. Here you have a picture of the "daughters" of the Doll Manufacturer, Builder and Engineer!

I hated the brown, It made that green look even more garish to me sooo I repainted the table and shelves white and I decided to just make the shelving evenly spaced and have them completey wrap around the corner rather than that break in the middle. It looks a lot more cohesive to me now but now my back hurts! LOL
Finally ready to share my crafty space... or my crafty basement corner.

The last surviving tank landing craft used at D-Day which avoided German shelling during the landings only to sink 66 years later in a dock on Merseyside arrived in Southsea today as part of her move to a museum.
Landfall, also known as LCT 7074, was restored at the Portsmouth Naval Base in a £4.7million project and will now go on to grace Southsea Common in Hampshire in front of the D-Day Story museum.
The 194ft (53m), 300-ton vessel was one of 800 such boats which carried tanks and military supplies on to the French beaches at Normandy as part of the Allied invasion force of June 6, 1944.

But a £5million rescue operation by the Royal Navy's museum then saw her raised four years later and restored at the Portsmouth Naval Base.

Here's a pic of my craft room closet. I've worked really hard to organize it to make the most of the space, it's only 10x12ft! The pegboard is a great option, because it's modular. Whenever I change my mind, I can change the storage system to fit!
... first ones to go were in the middle ... motorbike, elephants Belfast skyline ... these are all on Flickr!
