We are trying to keep this tradition alive, although it's not as easy to get a hold of them after Brexit.
Crazy Tuesday theme: biscuits and crackers
I stacked my biscuits to create this gingerbread star cookie tree. It sits in the snow that arrived overnight. It is outside for the winter critters to enjoy.
The 11/7 Macro Mondays theme is Biscuit.
I was pleased when I saw that crackers were listed as a biscuit because we didn't have any traditional biscuits in the house, and I doubt that I'd have gone out to buy some, whereas we always have Triscuits on hand.
"In France, among the most well-known sablé recipes are those of La Mère Poulard, and the cookies of Saint-Michel and Pont-Aven.
Sablés can be flavoured with almonds, lemon or orange zest."

Broken biscuits don't contribute to your daily calorie intake. That's what I think anyway.

Nicely aligned with the Christmas theme, this is a view from a granite outcrop called Nut Crackers. A quick google search tells me that the name came from a large boulder balanced on top of the granite outcrop (check historic photo: www.torsofdartmoor.co.uk/images/tors/main/418_1.jpg). Sadly it got thrown down at some point. Last Sunday, we spent some windy hours on Dartmoor, taking in a few tors along the way and the Nut Crackers was the first one. It was sadly also the only one still in sunlight. For the rest of the walk, low clouds moved in and turned the landscape into a misty and nippy winter scenery.
