Morning glory at Banff's Two Jack Lake with the sun's early rays lighting up Mt. Rundle.
Located on the Minnewanka Loop. Two Jack Lake lies between Johnson Lake and the largest man made lake in the park, Minnewanka, It was named after Jack Stanley, who operated a boat concession on lake Minnewanka at one time, and Jack Watters, who worked for the mines in Bankhead, a town which flourished at the base of Cascade Mountain just after the turn of the century. While their precise relationship is uncertain, the pair must have frequented the shore of the waters which were named after them. In any given season, a drive along the loop past Johnson, Two Jack and Lake Minnewanka is sure to make a lasting impression.
Enjoy a wonderful Sunday evening and week ahead!

Ma proposition pour Macro Mondays sur le thème "Biscuit"
J'ai mangé presque tout le paquet pendant la prise des 98 images qui composent ce stack, est-ce bien raisonnable ?
I ate almost the whole packet while taking the 98 images that make up this stack, is that reasonable?

I took some pictures of the lights on my tree a few days ago and when I seen this picture I thought it would make a nice background for one of Asha's pictures. So I looked through some of my Asha Christmas pictures and came across this one of her holding a cracker in 2017. This picture of her was taken on her usual podium of the wee platform at the bottom of the stairs and for Christmas it has the Santa figure standing behind her. I just have too many pictures of this Santa in the background of Asha'a Christmas poses so it completely changes the picture when you change the background. I think this background works in well and makes the picture more interesting I think. This is a unexpected upload Christmas picture just made on the spur of the moment...lol

This little bit of cuteness is probably an offspring of the one who coached her nestlings to fledge about a month ago.

Cracker lake, Glacier National Park.
I decided to revisit some old pictures of mine for ideas on where to visit again. I'll be going back to Cracker Lake for sure. Great hike with such a payoff.
Cracker Lake at Glacier National Park. Stunning lake, must be seen to be believed.
The opaque turquoise color of the lake comes from rock flour (silt) originating from Siyeh Glacier.
ThoSome tiny display crackers balanced on top of each other. Each cracker is about 3 inches long so wont be pulling one of these this year!!

I usually name them. They each have their own personality.
I appreciate each and every visit, comment and fave here on my little corner of the world as seen through my lens.
Beautifully camouflaged, male Grey Crackers mark their territory with aggressive flights accompanied by loud 'cracking' sounds.
Hamadryas species.Male cracker butterflies are known for their ability to make a cracking noise with their wings, which is believed to either be for mating or to ward off rival males. Costa rica.
This Starry Night Cracker butterfly, Hamadryas laodamia, was resting head down on a tree trunk like many of its relatives that are much better camouflaged. This species evidently relies on toxic chemicals ingested by the caterpillar that makes the adult distasteful to avian predators. These crackers range from central Mexico south to Brazil.

Mt. Rundle in the distance.
Took a detour from this Banff series to return to Banff for some more shots, and memorable experiences. Much to love there.
I'll continue this older set for a while till I get a chance to process some of the new ones.
Thanks for taking a look!
Enjoy a wonderful weekend!
