It's one of Freescale's Coldfire V4 cpus, the MCF5480. $42 in quantities of one, half that in quantities of one hundred. Integrated everything, all it needs is some ram, connectors, and power and it's ready to rock.

This is the math coprocessor. Almost all of the motherboards that took a 8088 would take an 8087. That aside, almost no one at the time had a need for one, or if they needed floating point they used a real computer. On second thought, I think Lotus had support for these.
