He calls them 'my girlies' and they are. They love him dearly. All three are very different but I can promise you, they will be buddies for life. They balance each other out so perfectly. The leader, the fun-lover, and the thoughtful one. Together they face the world knowing they have each other by their side.
The love of cousins. The love of sisters. The love of family. The ties that bind.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get two different species of woodpeckers (downy on the left, hairy on the right) sitting on one of my perches. While they have similar colorations, they are much different in size. When I culled through the images I had taken, I noticed these two were sitting on different places on the perch (the two images were taken 5 minutes apart). From Lightroom, I sent the two images as layers to Photoshop. I then used Auto-Align followed by Auto-Blend to merge them into a single layer. The resultant image really shows how much smaller the downy woodpeckers are. Both of these are males as females do not have the red spot on their heads. Ah, technology!!
My sincere thanks to all who spend the time to view, like or comment on my photos. It is much appreciated!

The trees were so covered in long strands of mossy hair they seemed like giant Cousin Itt from the Adams Family.
Ok, may not seem like the most creative title, but everyime I go to this place, and photograph more than one vehicle in the photo, there always seems to be a family reunion feeling. So this is clearly Cousin Bill, with his overweight Mum and Dad in the background. I have a creative imagaination I know.

On Sunday we had our youngest granddaughters 1st birthday party. Before the cake eating and gift opening these two cousins (my grandsons) took the Chevy out for a spin. I just love the expressions on their faces. These two get along pretty good and hopefully have a long friendship ahead of them. Myles on the left is 2 and Conner is 4 years old.
I didn't take this pic, I'm in it! I have always loved this image. I'm in the red coat and pink pants. My Mom told me to roll them up because she didn't want the bottom of my pants to get dirty. These are my cousins and two brothers, they are on the right side and my brother Steve is the tallest. My cousins are a big part of my best childhood memories.
These are two of my granddaughters - they were born 7 weeks apart and they love each other so much. Whenever one of them is at my house, they are always asking when the other one is coming over. I couldn't resist posting these photos as I love the beautiful sunlight shining around them.
We don't see this larger cousin of the little Red Breasted Nuthatch as often... White Breasted Nuthatch

Thank you all for your overwhelming and very kind comments!
This is my 8 day old grandson Oliver with his cousin Ella who was born 5 days before him. This may be a little weird since they are not twins but I thought it was just too cute. We will never ever show this to them when they are older. Might even have to destroy it:)
this is my cousin, she's the youngest after me out of 12 grandkids. she's 13 and gorgeous. we ran out into the field and woods during the family reunion and found a fantastic spot in the woods. it was a lot of fun even with trekking out through a field, not noticing the path five feet from us and destroying our feet.
These two teenage boys - ages 11 and 13 - are first cousins, but they treat each other more than just family members, they are best friends.
