This picture was shot hand-held with three exposures (-2..0..+2EV). I used Photomatix to create the HDR with tonemapping and detail enhanced. I decreased the overall saturation with Hue/Saturation in Photoshop. Curve adjustment to increase the overall contrast. 1 layer mask for the clouds to really increase the intensity and contrast. Unsharp Mask.
The Pioneer Courthouse is a federal courthouse in Portland, Oregon, United States. Built beginning in 1869, the structure is the oldest federal building in the Pacific Northwest, and the second oldest west of the Mississippi River. Along with Pioneer Courthouse Square, it serves as the center of downtown Portland. It is also known as the Pioneer Post Office because a popular downtown Portland post office was, until 2005, located inside. The courthouse is one of four primary locations where the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit hears oral arguments. It also houses the chambers of the Portland-based judges on the Ninth Circuit.

WRIGHT - Paul A. Wright died December 26, 2009 at the age of 95. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and his special friend, Justine Tangeman. He is survived by his dear friend and companion, Henrietta DeLoof; two children, Andrew Wright (Barbara) of Grand Rapids and Susan (Michelle Kopcha); two grandsons, James of Grand Rapids and William (Jennifer) of St. Petersburg, Florida. With the exception of service in the navy during WWII and his time in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan, Paul's long life was rooted in Grand Rapids, the city that he most loved and delighted in as it changed and grew. Paul was a graduate of the U of M Law School and began his practice as an assistant prosecuting attorney. In private practice for the majority of his legal career, Paul was elected to the 61st District Court in 1968 and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1984. The last of his generation on both sides of his immediate family, Paul will be missed for his quick laugh, his perpetual curiosity and the example he set with his willingness to engage in spontaneous activities right to the end of his life. A memorial service will be held at Sentinel Pointe Retirement Community, 2900 Thornhills Dr. SE, on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 3 p.m. with the family receiving friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that contributions in memory of Paul Wright be made to the charity of the giver's choice. Paul highly valued the commitment of the individual to one's broader community and contributions to any worthy cause would have been a high honor for him.
