I visited the Mesa City Cemetery late on a Sunday afternoon in October, hoping to get some good pictures in the hour or so just prior to sunset. I was pleasantly surprised to see all the flowers adorning the graves, then realized that this was part of the influence of Arizona's large Hispanic community, as the Dia de los Muertos was only a few days away.

Out of respect for the privacy of those visiting the cemetery at the time, I took no candid photos of anyone there, except in this instance. I was trying to compose my picture just as this couple walked into my field of view, and immediately decided to snap the shutter anyway. (Note that they appear slightly out of focus, which was intentional.) Their presence in the picture-frame prompted me to think of the above passage, taken from the scriptures of the Mormon faith. I thought they also added something to the photo itself, including a sense of connection between the living and the dead.
