One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret,
Never to be told.
Eight for a wish,
Nine for a kiss,
Ten a surprise you should be careful not to miss,
Eleven for health,
Twelve for wealth,
Thirteen beware it’s the devil himself.

You can always count on crows (pun intended, sorry Mr Jones) to lead you to raptors.
We were out with a friend today and heard a group of crows yelling and screaming at something.... As we got closer I could see the shape and thought it was a juvenile eagle, then Michelle lifted her binos and said Great Horned Owl!!!!
Wow this Owl was getting harassed by at least a couple dozen crows rudely telling it to move on, it did eventually and they were in hot pursuit. Nice to see the sun again and count on some crows......
A volte, di notte, dormivo con gli occhi aperti sotto un cielo gocciolante di stelle. Vivevo, allora.

Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself, and know that everything in life has purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences ...... all events are blessings given to us to learn from.

"We're living in the gold
Driving in your car
And the cases that went cold
I want to be wherever you are
And we're sitting in that room
And you spoke in Japanese
Singing words, "I'll come home soon"
Want to please you
You want to please me"

Counting all the years I′m old
Like stories about the lies I'm told
Waiting for the fall
Time, mistakes my love for hate
Too young to go too old to wait
Sliding off the wall
Giri ancora per la piazza
O hai trovato la via
Prima di perderti di nuovo
Dai uno guardo alle istruzioni
Cambi ancora spesso idea
O ti fermi a guardare
Che tutto è bello, perché è diverso
Sopratutto da noi
Spread the words like wings I′m gone
Far away from where I come
Falling feels like home
Falling feels like home
Non sarà diverso il mio domani
Falling feels like home
Cadendo, mi sentirò
Carelessness, weightlessness I want it all
Little by little the bigger gets small
Waiting for the fall
Pensi ancora al tuo domani o inizi già a chiamarlo ieri
Cambia lo smalto
Ricordami chi eri
Mi sentirai, e comunque sai, che tengo stretti i sogni anche cadendo
Perché cadendo, mi ritrovo
Falling feels like home
Non sarà diverso il mio domani
Falling feels like home
Cadendo, mi sentirò
Falling feels like home
Non sarà diverso il mio domani
Cadendo, mi sentirò
I know it's hard to find
But I'm finding it hard to hold on
E se ti mancherà qualcosa di me
Lo troverai nel vento
Spread the words like wings I′m gone
Far away from where I come
Falling feels like home
Mi sentirai, e comunque sai, che tengo stretti i sogni anche cadendo
Perché cadendo, mi ritrovo
Falling feels like home
Falling feels like home
Falling feels like home
Falling feels like home
Non sarà diverso il mio domani
Falling feels like home
Cadendo, mi sentirò
Falling feels like home

'Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby I been, I been prayin' hard
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be counting stars
Yeah, we'll be counting stars'

Hex Castle
In 1770, the prince-bishop of Liège, Count von Velbrück, built one of the most beautiful style castles in Belgium, in the tiny Limburg village of Heks.
The monumental building has a U-shape.
Since the castle of Hex was his personal property, after his death in 1784 it did not pass to the prince-bishopric of Liège, but to his family de Marchant d'Ansembourg. When the latter d'Ansembourg died childless, the estate was inherited by the d'Ursel family, who have kept the castle in excellent condition ever since.
Current occupant, Count Ghislain d'Ursel, has inhabited the 18th-century castle of Hex since his birth.

In the wee hours of the morning, I can count on Jimmy to follow me around and keep me company (while all the other cats are sleeping). Lately, we've been allowing Jimmy (& Idaho) to spend time in Puddy's (& my) bedroom during the daytime--as long as they don't cause a ruckus. In these 3 shots, Jimmy knows it's time for me to remove him from the room and shut the door so that Puddy can relax.

I didn’t want to skip ahead on my new species count but I also need to add some diversity on my page away from the birds of Costa Rica. As often stated, I am not a birder, I am a wildlife guy. I photograph anything that moves and a few things that do not!
While being transported from one hotel/region of CR to the next we used a service called I Love Travel…five stars…highest recommendations!!! Our driver’s name was Willie and he could not have been any kinder. For the entire 2+ hour journey we talked and laughed, sharing information about CR and the things we were seeing. Since he had a delay between us and his next customers, I had him scanning for wildlife all along the way. At one point, without warning he hit the brakes, did a sharp right turn onto a gravel road, pulled off into a parking lot below a large avocado where two scarlet macaws were feeding.
After some 20+ minutes there photographing them as they worked the branches above, we departed only to do yet another bat-turn into a neighborhood where he knew there to be sloths from time to time. He jumped out, scanned the trees for a few minutes and then came back and said that they had moved on. He must have seen the disappointment in my eyes as he laughed and said…” I will find you something even bigger my friend!” I immediately said MONKEYS…he just smiled and said…” You will see!”
Several minutes passed and we were back off the highway and driving through a small CR town. He whipped into a spot alongside a restaurant named (something in Spanish) Iguanas. We got out and walked along the side of the restaurant to see some very large trees behind the building, rooted in a small river far below.
Amongst the branches were 10-12 of the largest iguanas that I have ever seen! The largest, a male who was at least five foot long and a head the circumference of a volleyball! However, this isn’t that guy…he will be shared at a later date. I am sharing his guy today as he perfectly reflects the contentment I felt to be in the Costa Rican sun in January (I believe it was about 85 degrees when this was taken) knowing that it was at or below zero back home in Indiana!
