Dawn at a derelict cottage in Joondalup. It was cold and misty but worth the ride. such a beautiful spot and time of the day
Another shot from Oct 21 trying to catch the last rays of the sun, some sunsets are legendary made so by the foreground you can include or the colors that typically appear and some are a little more subdued but they are all still good practice for me to add to the editing finished pile.
I have spent the past several days working on another artistic endeavor this one is my annual holiday light display which has been blessed this year with unseasonably warm weather so I could be on the ladder with flip flops versus snow boots.
Even in the wilderness you have neighbors this shot captured here is from the end of our dock looking towards the next cottage on our right side, my Dad always said high fences make for great neighbors but so do long stretches of water.
I took this on Oct 21, 2020 with my D850 and Tamron 15-30mm G2 Lens at 30mm 1.3 sec f/16 ISO64 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia, Topaz , and DXO

Restored thatched cottage near Kilmuir on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Part of the Museum of Island Life.
Hey look! A pretty little, blue cottage that I found just for you. I don’t want you doubting that occasionally I am able to find houses that aren’t falling apart. Plus, this has a power pole and a fence, so good stuff. HFF
... with the book of contemplative horror :)
Actually it's a very good book (my struggle). The book in the photo, btw, is a very handy travel edition where the text have been printed horizontally on the pages!
Trompe Loeil has come out with the Modern Hensley Cottage for faMESHed this round..so many wonderful features in this home from the large open windows with shutters (open and close with the click of your mouse) , to the gorgeous rock fireplaces on both levels. If you don't have a kitchen set, never fear! There is a version that includes a kitchen, so you can just move right in and get to cooking! The upper floor has a beautiful sprawling outside deck perfect for entertaining...I decided to feature that space so you can see how beautiful and roomy it is! Pictured:

Last of the series from Llangollen canal kayakers...this man heads past a canal side cottage which is in a delightful location.
A quick sunshower has just passed over, showing only on the traditional slate roof.
Priory Cottages is a substantial 14th-century manor house and former monastic grange, in the village of Steventon, South Oxfordshire. Remarkably, it was endowed to the National Trust in 1939 by five women who called themselves 'Ferguson’s Gang' and kept their identities secret. The property is not open to the general public.
Ran across this amazing cottage along the road when we were out for a photo shoot at Chatsworth.
Please press L and view in full screen.
Thank you so much for your visit!

In Norway it's quite common to travel up to the mountain and celebrate Easter.
Packing our backpack, bringing our skis, either cross country or slalom skiing.
Either traveling to a rented cottage or you own one yourself.
There are always an orange or two in the backpack.
Hot chocolate and coffee or tea.
And then there is Kvikk Lunsj, this is a chocolate snack with wafer inside. We can't travel without it.
No wonder we think it's a must, it has been in our backpacks since 1937, lol.
There are lots of cottages to rent, so do come - we love our tourists. And you can see we have diamonds too, free to sample your own.
This beautiful whitewashed stone building actually looks older than it is. It seems it was constructed in 1916 to serve as an assistant lighthouse keeper's cottage. At the time, given the light was powered by kerosene, having a watch throughout the night was essential. So an assistant was required to help the lighthouse keeper. The photo I've posted below shows the lighthouse keeper's house built in 1890.
This cottage stands overlooking the mouth of the Tamar River where it joins the notoriously rough Bass Strait. That would have been quite a view to have after a night's labour looking after the light.
Arlington Row in Bibury, Cotswolds. 13th century buildings used as a monastic wool store before being converted in the 17th century into weaver's cottages. Wiltshire, England. Hasselblad X2D.
Kouka Cottage is one of the earlier cottages built in Greytown township circa 1860s and, with its verandah and brick chimney, is typical of early colonial cottages of the era. Greytown, population 2,202, is a rural town in the centre of the Wairarapa region of New Zealand, in the lower North Island.
This delightful cottage is located in the village of Great Ouseburn, North Yorkshire.
Great Ouseburn and the nearby village of Little Ouseburn both take their name from the River Ouse
Sitting high atop sheer, gray cliffs the Seaview Cottage looks out across the open sea toward imaginary distant shores. Neselted along the northern edge of our home at Gentle Breezes, the cottage is one of our favorite places to just chill and enjoy each others company. Opening to share with the public soon, Gentle Breezes is also the location of our gallery which will be opening soon as well.
