Dog in a shop doorway in Saint Tropez.........shot on a day when Catherine Zeta Jones & Cher where snapped in town by the paparazzi, I think that I got the best photo that day though.

Nice is simply Nice. The moment I arrived in the middle of the city and checked in the hotel, lady at the desk gave me advices to what to do for a day in this town. I visited Marc Chagall Museum and climbed up the hill in the old part of the city to have an amazing views on the azure and yellow painted houses with stone brick rooftops.

Originally a rather innocuous HDR I admit I might have over-compensated in this first outing with Nik's Silver FX Pro. It does do a better job with B&W conversion than Photoshop (or DxO) when pushed hard. In particular darkened skies don't develop the noise that plague PS conversions.

The image above though was treated a lot less subtly and noise was the least of my concerns.

Not yet sure if I'll buy SFX but I can understand why it's popular.
