This trip in the maritime alps, is a beautiful steep path between rock and nature, and is the first part of Nietzsche's historic road. It starts near the Èze-sur-Mer train station and leads to the Èze-Village. This path gives you a wonderful view of the valley and the sea and goes through the beautiful Moorish village Èze built in the twelfth century. I walked both ways 8,4 km², both up and down which I can recommend.
The trail got its name from the famous philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche who came there on holiday and loved to walk there.
Length one way 4.2 km² Elevation 391 m.

Let's continue our "journey through time."
We are still on the Dramont Peninsula on the Côte d'Azur in the south of France.
And finally, we turn our gaze toward the sea. Here, next to the typical red cliffs of the Esterel Mountains, whose foothills plunge into the Mediterranean here, we see a small rocky island with a striking tower.
This is the Île d'Or, which is privately owned and therefore unfortunately not open to visitors.
But even from the shore, it makes a great photo opportunity, especially at sunset.

Wie befinden uns noch immer auf der Halbinsel Dramont an der Cote d'Azur im Süden Frankreichs.
Und endlich richten wir unseren Blick auch einmal in Richtung Meer. Hier sehen wir neben den typischen roten Felsen vom Esterel Gebirge, dessen Ausläufer hier ins Mittelmeer eintauchen, eine kleine Felseninsel mit einem markanten Turm.
Dies ist die Île d'Or, welche sich in Privatbesitz befindet und somit leider nicht besichtigt werden kann.
Doch auch vom Ufer aus macht sie als Fotomotiv eine Gute figur. Vor allem bei Sonnenuntergang.

Vom Chateau oberhalb von Bormes-les-Mimosas führt ein steiniger Wanderweg (GR 90) zu einer Kapelle auf der Spitze eines 324 m hohen Hügels. Die Kapelle stammt aus dem 13. Jahrhundert und sieht von außen sehr archaisch aus. Aber unsere Vorfahren haben für solche Kapellen vermutlich immer die schönsten Plätze in der Umgebung ausgesucht. Aus dem Vorraum zu dieser alten Kapelle hat man einen herrlichen Blick nach Süden auf Le Lavandou, die Côte d'Azur und die Iles d'Hyères. Daneben gibt es auch noch einen Aussichtspunkt mit einer tollen Rundumsicht. Wenn dann das Wetter auch noch stimmt, ist jeder Schweißtropfen vergessen, den man vielleicht beim Aufstieg vergossen hat ;=)
