What I really loved about my time at the French Riviera were those splendid views on clear days. Being at sea level looking up at snow covered Alps. And from the Alpine cliffs straight down onto an Azur blue sea.
This trip in the maritime alps, is a beautiful steep path between rock and nature, and is the first part of Nietzsche's historic road. It starts near the Èze-sur-Mer train station and leads to the Èze-Village. This path gives you a wonderful view of the valley and the sea and goes through the beautiful Moorish village Èze built in the twelfth century. I walked both ways 8,4 km², both up and down which I can recommend.
The trail got its name from the famous philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche who came there on holiday and loved to walk there.
Length one way 4.2 km² Elevation 391 m.

Der Garten des Renoir-Museums bietet auf fast 15.000 m² eine Olivenbaumplantage, die Auguste Renoir retten wollte, als er das landwirtschaftliche Anwesen 1907 erwarb.
Hier ließ er auch das Anwesen errichten, das seine letzte Ruhestätte war. Der Garten ist heute ein Museum, das dem Meister der Impressionisten gewidmet ist. Er wurde erhalten und aufgewertet, sodass die Besucher in die impressionistische Atmosphäre dieser einzigartigen Landschaft eintauchen können. Die mehrere hundert Jahre alten Olivenbäume spielen zu jeder Jahreszeit mit dem Licht und bieten einen der schönsten Panoramablicke auf die Stadt und den alten Ortskern.
2019, zum hundertsten Todestag von Renoir, wurde ein Gemüsegarten eingeweiht, der an die Unterzeichnung eines im Museum des Meisters aufbewahrten Sendschreibens anknüpft: "Renoir, cultivateur à Cagnes" (Renoir, Landwirt in Cagnes).
Das Anwesen soll zu einem Zufluchtsort für die Artenvielfalt werden.
