The manner in which the JNuvv . has quoted a particular 'marks' that the concerned student had got in his M.Phil entrance wtthout any official communication of the administration to the JNUSU is not only a reckless position but also does not augur well for the credibility of the JNUSU. While we know that the marks of the candidates appearing in JNU Entrance Examination is known only to the Admission Branch, it was disturbing that a particular organization published the same marks even before the JNUSU President! Also, an argument that 22 seats instead of 20 in a particular Centre would have ensured that a student qualified the entrance test is extremely childish and tantamount to ridiculing a candidate who has not only been denied admission but has gathered strain and humiliation due to the utter insensitivity and callousness of the university administration! Day before yesterday, in an informal Council Meeting, after detailed discussion on the 1ssue, it was unanimously decided that the JNUSU would seek a clarification from the AC regarding the academic logic behind the AC resolution cited by the CASR. We also demand that the administration should take responsibility for the harassment caused to Masood due to their non-seriousness and callousness and adopt the necessary steps to avoid similar incidents in the future.
