The Edsel Corsair is an automobile that was produced and sold by Edsel in 1958 and 1959. The 1959 Edsel styling was significantly toned down, as was the vertical grille assembly, which now featured a fine bar pattern as shown in this example.

F4U Corsair Aircraft getting ready to taxi, the motor is running and it is about to start rolling, shot in North Carolina.

First flown in 1940, Corsairs first tasted combat at Guadalcanal. It was there that Corsairs definitely established their aerial superiority over the vaunted Japanese Zero a highly maneuverable aircraft that had previously outperformed all U.S. fighters. The Corsairs were the first American fighters to top 400 miles per hour, and the first to house a 2,000 horsepower engine, making the gull-wing Corsairs the toughest foe faced by enemy pilots. Statements by high

Japanese officers at the end of the war disclosed the fact that they considered the Corsair the top fighter in use by any service in the Pacific.

In addition to the evolving it into the Rascal rover, I have also been reworking the Corsair starfighter itself. I was never 100% pleased with the wings I originally came up with, so thought I would play around with them. Here is a pic of the latest version.

This is Red Bull's F4U-4 Corsair at Sywell, just after take off. One of my favourites to see as it has my initials on the tail - nothing to do with the Sponsor!

Such a powerful and purposeful looking aircraft, the type was instrumental in the Pacific Theatre in WW2.
