Our bodies getting intertwined
It's fucking filthy feeding off the blood inside
Dried out
Veins and no more pain
Let me know the place and I'll take you away
Tonight
We're not gonna hold back
Make way for the freaks giving everybody heart attacks
What you need
Is just a little discipline
And I got a heavy dose of the right medicine
I'm dominant by definition
I'm turned on by your submission
The dark side is how we've been living
Let me show you what you've been missing
You-you-you are, you are my slave
My little fucking disaster
I-I-I am, I am your god
Call me, call me, call me your master...
On my way to a predetermined spot for photos, this drive by gem jumped out. After doing a double take and realizing what I had seen, my plans changed. The time of day was just right to catch this tree in the bright light. In an hour or so, it would be in the shade of surrounding trees, so it was now or never. After parking and grabbing the tools of the trade, it was necessary to jump the mote protecting the course as if it were in need of protection, like some castle of old.
After landing in the mote and getting up, I trekked over to where I could get the best shot. Golfers past by in the distance likely wondering what I was up too. But, they were just as quickly gone, and I was alone with my subject. This shot turned out best with the curtain of trees behind further accentuating this lone tree. However, the small opening at the bottom revealed the doppler of the tree itself. After a few foreground curves and undulations, the image was complete. Then off to the mote once again.

"The apparent is the bridge to the real." (Old Arab saying ... not that it's an old Arab that's saying it but I think it means that Arabs in olden times said it but that doesn't mean that Arabs of modern times aren't still saying it ... either old Arabs or young Arabs or both.) Just sayin' :)
I would welcome clarification or elaboration or correction from an Arab ... young and old alike. :)
As winter in Montreal does not give many occasions for bokeh photography, I was recently playing with possibilities of RaweTherapee, my RAW editor of choice. I made couple of LUT files too mimic a memory of some vintage films my father used in 70-ties.
Here I share some results. Only minimal exposure and LUT profile were applied on those photos.
I believe this HYBYCOZO sculpture is titled Pyrite Field. It greets visitors in the Ottosen Entry Garden. Any correction will be appreciated. I especially love it at night with the lights and shadows.

LIGHT BLOOM by HYBYCOZO is a limited-time exhibit where nature and light converge. This mesmerizing display invites you to explore the Garden transformed by stunning geometric light installations that illuminate the beauty of the desert landscape in a new way. As the sun sets, LIGHT BLOOM comes to life, casting intricate shadows and vibrant hues across the Garden. Wander the trails and let the enchanting installations transport you to a magical realm where the natural world meets the abstract.
HYBYCOZO is the collaborative studio of artists Serge Beaulieu and Yelena Filipchuk. Based in Los Angeles, their work consists of larger than life geometric sculptures, often with pattern and texture that draw on inspirations from mathematics, science, and natural phenomena. Typically illuminated, the work celebrates the inherent beauty of form and pattern and represents their ongoing journey in exploring the myriad dimensions of geometry. HYBYCOZO is short for the Hyperspace Bypass Construction Zone, a nod to their favorite novel (The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) and was the title of their first installation in 2014. They continue to create under this name. In the novel earth was being destroyed to make way for a bypass. It lead Serge and Yelena to ask what it means to make art at a time where the earth’s hospitable time in the universe may be limited.

Q: Walk us through your creative process?
A: The focus of our creative process is to explore the intricate interplay between geometry, light, space and to inspire contemplation, wonder and a sense of place among our audiences. Geometry and pattern-making serve as the backbone of our creative expression. It is the framework through which we navigate the complexities of form, proportion and spatial relationships. Patterns, both simple and complex, have a profound impact on our perception and understanding of the world. They possess the ability to evoke a sense of order, balance and aesthetic pleasure. Pattern making and geometry offer us a means of storytelling and communication. These patterns serve as conduits for deeper exploration, provoking introspection and contemplation to uncover the underlying symbols embedded within the human psyche.
Q: What inspired the concept of LIGHT BLOOM?
A: Just as many cactus and desert plants have evolved to produce night-blooming flowers, adapting to their environment and thriving in darkness, our sculptures come alive after sunset, blossoming with light and transforming the night into a glowing landscape of art and geometry.
Desert Botanical Garden has an incredible collection of plants and cacti arranged in a beautiful park setting.
"Think the desert is all dirt and tumbleweeds? Think again. Desert Botanical Garden is home to thousands of species of cactus, trees and flowers from all around the world spread across 55 acres in Phoenix, Arizona."

Dear friends,
Here is my first work with pics taken with my new toy, the Nikon D300. I finally decided to buy it. Looks like a birthday gift to myself! :-)))
Since few times, I try to process my HDRs a bit differently (not so strong and a lot of corrections after the tone mapping. Some parts are HDR and some others are not HDR)....
Happy week-end to all :-)
Thanks so much fellow photographer JT for correctly identifying this sighting, Well done JT !!
Thanks for viewing, faves and comments are always appreciated!

Squeaky got his driver's license today. When he took his photo for his ID, they made him take his glasses off and check the box that stated he needed corrective lenses to drive. It's the first time in Squeaky's life he's fallen out of a tree. He missed a branch while climbing down without his glasses.

Held at Western Ave for over 12 hours due to a train derailment in Aurora, Illinois, NS SD40-2 3380 leads the way of an oil train as it waits for a fresh BNSF crew to deliver the train to the Dakotas.
Originally, NS 8103, the Norfolk and Western HU led the train however, NS was burl enough to put the superior SD40-2 on point.
