Found while collecting litter. Presented on a background of a pour painting for Looking close...on Friday! theme: bottle caps.
This shot was taken May the 29. And the first signs of summer was here! Some friends and I were rockclimbing at Helleneset until the sunset. We had BBQ and a few Corona and it felt like the premiere of the summer! And believe me, the Corona tasted like a piece of Heavens!
Sorry for not for commenting the last week, I have been busy finishing my exams and are now working full time before my vacation in mid-July. But now I will try to go through all of your fantastic photos!
Have a great weekend and summer my dear friends!
The probability of being hit by a stack of Corona boxes is higher than dying from a deadly Corona infection.
According to Statista, the infection rate for the entire Covid period from January 2020 to November 2021 was 6.9 percent for Germany as a national average. However, one would have to relate the infection rate to 1 year. Then it would be perhaps 5 percent. The lethality or number of deaths within the group of positively tested persons is, according to a high estimate (e.g. Prof. Drosten), 1 percent. The probability of getting Covid (with a positive test) and then dying from it is therefore purely mathematically 6.9/100 * 1.0/100 = 6.9 / 10000 = 0.00069. To die from Covid, one would have to live more than 1000 years in the pandemic.
That's why the elites can celebrate without a care in the world:

Sitting high on a hill overlooking Chamula's Churh sits this curiosity. A piece that looks out of place from more representative Mexican architecture.
Maybe its the Chamula headquarters for the TVS KING pedicab Company?
Now lets shuffle on over next door to the Cantina and sip a cerveza?

Challenge #63: Full splash ("full sprut")
To me, one of the best things to do in summer is to sit down with a good book and relax with a cold beer. And one of the most summery beers is Corona served with lime. There's something about the freshness and the colors. And that's what I wanted to convey here: freshness and color.
I've never done a proper splash shot before, but this challenge seemed like the perfect opportunity. It also helped that I have some great inspiration in my growing collection of favs. Just check out these images: Strawberry 2.0 by Hermanau, Ka-Splash by Brynjar and Splash 2 by Boy with Nails in his Eyes.
Technical details
Camera mounted on tripod with my Canon 100mm macro at f/16, 1/250 sec and ISO 200. Used my Canon EF 580EX II flash in manual mode at 1/4 power with a dome diffuser at camera right. I mounted two Lastolite TriFlips with silver covers on each side of the glass of beer in addition. (Check the behind the scenes shot below).
Post-processing consisted of cropping, adjusting curves and adding clarity and sharpness to the lime. Also did some selective color adjustments to get the image to "pop" a bit more. The brunt of the work was to clone out fruit pulp -- there was quite a bit floating about after dropping limes many, many, many times into the beer. :-)
giocando con una birra! :-)

A former London Metrobus, WYW 56T, being used as a promotional vehicle for Corona Extra lager - featuring an unusual offside door, normally associated with overseas tourist services for such vehicles.
Of course, just under 20 years later and the world would be grappling with a very different type of Corona.

On the march to Carmelitas for breakfast we waited a long time to dash across busy Calle Heroico Colegio Militar.
Should we order a Corona Extra?
OK, for real, we are gone, maybe we could borrow his Vette to get outta town?
On the streets of Roma Norte Borough, Mexico City.
The bright yellow corvette was an eye catcher.
Along with thousands of other drivers and pedestrians I’ve been passing this 'bright and precarious sight' for a month or more and keep meaning to take a photo before they repair it.... but that doesn’t seem to be happening. The reason will undoubtedly be something to do with the coronavirus! Call me cynical but it does appear to me that most issues not being dealt with are said to be the fault of the coronavirus! Continuing my cynicism it could need a government issued guideline before any work can progress?
I’ve now had a thought that it could be an exhibition of a work of art. A Tracy Emin maybe?
One final shot to end the Gastown Murals of Gratitude series. I shot approximately 50% of them.
Let's finish up with a cold bottle of Rona?
14 May, 2020:
Unbelievable!!
There has been a 567% increase in business break-ins this year to date over last year, all COVID-19 related. Not a mistake, 567%. So boarding up businesses is not an option.

2021: Restaurant didn’t last long, likely a casualty of COVID and the dismal reality of Vancouver’s DTES, a hell hole of customers with no cash.
