It is not finished yet. Weatheroldman who change the time and the four seasons. I hope I`ll finished them very soon. (2x4m) Every season has its fairy. I use small brushes for painting, that`s why my time for working last so long.

Mos Vreme si cele patru anotimpuri. Peretele are aici aproape 2m inaltime si o lungime de 4 m. Lucrez zilnic dupa programul de gradinita vreo trei ore. La anotimpul iarna sunt doar cateva ramurele de brad si fundite pictate deocamdata. Urmeaza si celelalte elemente.La celelalte anotimpuri mai am cateva elemente de completat si apoi de realizat contururile, elementul esential. Folosesc pensule foarte mici, inguste si de aceea timpul de lucru se mareste. :))

This image is almost a year old, taken in August last year, minutes before this one. From the moment I saw the scene I thought about Ion Creanga's Amintiri din Copilarie (Memories of My Boyhood) and the kid who lived in the countryside and just wouldn't stay put, doing lots of crazy things :)

I liked it from the beginning but didn't know how to process it.. guess I needed to be in my colour mood to succeed :D

I take this picture in a hot summer day, around my hometown with one my best friends !

amintiri din copilarie -- Timişoara

This kid (a boy or a girl) is from on of Bucharest's poor neighbourhoods.

Although it's not representative for Bucharest 's kids or for the city itself (despite of the false image it has outside), i love this photo because of his attitude.

Picasa software helped me hiwth the crop and the tone, inspired by some of Edward S. Curtis' masterpieces (see www.sil.si.edu/Exhibitions/Curtis/ , for instance)

Cet enfant (garcon ou fille) est d'un cartier pauvre de Bucarest. Bien que l'enfant n'est pas representatif pour les enfants de bucarest ou pour la ville elle-mmee (malgre les cliches occidentaux) j'aime bien la photo pour son expressivité:

Album nunta Fusion – intre traditie si modern

Albumul de mai jos este de departe unul dintre preferatele mele. De ce? Pentru ca este o combinatie a imposibilului: traditional cu modern/nonconformist. A fost o comanda speciala pentru o miresica ce e ea insasi handmade artist. (face bijuterii din suruburi). Solicitarea a fost sa imbin cumva tema traditionala a nuntii cu pasiunile mirilor. Si cum motoristi sarind peste capite de fan nu am putut sa realizez asa repede, a iesit ce vedeti.

Dimensiune album 17×22 cm, 30 pagini, aprox. 60 fotografii. Coperta este din iuta decorata cu 2 crengute de flori rosii din suruburi. Fiecare pagina din carton negru are un mic motiv traditional lipit intr-un colt. Pe coperta de interior am printat numele mirilor si data nuntii lor.

Inca o dimineata in care ma uit in oglinda si zic: "Iar tu? Aceeasi fata? Ce sa iti mai fac eu ca sa arati si tu mai bine?". Lasand la o parte machiajul, atent lucrat, parul trebuie sa fie si el bine aranjat.

Imi amintesc de copilarie cand, cu maiestrie, imi prindeam parul si nu o lasam pe mama sa se atinga de el: "Lasa ca stiu eu mai bine". Aveam atata rabdare ca ajungeam de multe ori, asa erau vremurile, sa imi impletesc tot parul in suvite mici, micute. Ma chinuia talentul cateva ore bune pana reuseam sa il aranjez. A si aveam o gramada de clamite si agrafe de toate felurile. Pentru coditele impletite foloseam, daca va mai amintiti, voi - fetele, erau niste floricele micute gen clips, senzatie! Iar cand nu ma impleteam tot capul, imi faceam doua codite, na, eram fun "Sailor Moon". Asta era perioada in care aveam parul un pic mai lungut. Niciodata nu a fost lung, lung. Acum, de cativa ani, m-am hotarat sa imi las parul lung. Sper sa ma tina, caci la cum sunt, o data mi se pune pata si ma tund scurt. Sper sa nu ma apuce nebunia aia mare, in care sa ajung singura in baie cu foarfeca in mana.

Ma rog, acum ca tot am parul mai lung, am o placere imensa pentru a-mi realiza tot felul de freze care presupun diverse impletituri. Asa am ajuns sa realizez "impletitura care te scoate din impas". Stiti voi diminetile acelea in care parul din fata sta oribil? Iar lungimile arata omeneste? Ei bine, daca aveti o zi din aceea "bad hair day" dar pe jumatate, va recomand "impletitura care va scoate din impas".

Nimic mai simplu: o impletitura simpla in trei careia ii dai un aer ceva mai sofisticat cu o simpla miscare. Ca sa para cat mai complex si sa nu para ca nu m-am chinuit deloc :P am zis sa fac doua randuri de impletituri pe fiecare parte.

This item belongs to the National Historical Museum in Athens and it was temporarily exhibited as part of "Imagining the Balkans" exhibition hosted by the National History Museum of Romania in Bucharest.

The yatagan belonged to the klepht (bandit, hajduk) Giorgakis Olymbios (Iordache Olimpiotul) who took part in the 1804 Serbian uprising against the turks and died in the 1821 battle against the turks at Secu Monastery in Moldova (nowadays Romania).

The battle was part of the Greek Revolution in 1821.

Also, Giorgos Olympios is the one responsable for the arrest of Romanian revolutionary Tudor Vladimirescu in Goleşti.

The yatagan was a distinctive weapon of predilection in the Balkans in 18th - 19th centuries and came to be seen as a feature of romantic conception of the Orient.

One can find hints of the events at Secu Monastery even in "Amintiri din copilărie" ("Childhood memories" or "Recollections from childhood") by Ion Creangă, in the story of David Creangă from Pipirig: "Pe acest deal, Smărăndiță, am fugit în vremea zaverei, cu mă-ta, cu tine şi cu frate-tău Ioan, de frica unei cete de turci, care se bătuse chiar atunci cu volintirii la Secu şi apoi se îndreptară spre Pipirig, după jăfuit."
