This was shortly before we found the little seal pup.
Blanca is focused on two crows at the water's edge and wants to charge at them ... but she wants me to give her the "go" signal. She has just looked back at me and now is trying to watch the birds and listen towards me simultaneously.
The idea of waiting until she gets a signal is completely her own idea. As far as I'm concerned, she can run after crows and gulls whenever she wants (she'll never catch one), but she insists on getting a signal first.
What she really wants is for me to run with her at the birds and she wants me as the leader to coordinate our run. I don't really like running, but sometimes I get drawn into her happy excitement and will thrill her by imitating a stalking panther. Then I suddenly break into a full run, which is as good as yelling, "CHARGE!"
The instant she sees me running, she takes off and we both launch ourselves at the crows in full gallop (she leaves me far behind at that point ...). Even though I abhor actual hunting, in this moment a shared instinct kicks in and we become strong and wild, acting with one mind and one purpose - and it is DEEPLY exhilarating!
And then I start limping because I pulled a muscle! ;)

I saw a lot of Black-necked Stilts in the agricultural fields this year. They were abundant in great numbers in recently harvested baron fields, as well as in watery areas. When chicks are about, parents are very protective and will verbally let you know to remove yourself, without delay. Inside a car, they are less concerned. Unfortunately for them, they nested in working ag areas, where people were always about. On the plus side, the presence of people probably kept predators at bay, at least during daylight hours. They are a favorite, little birds with big hearts. (Himantopus mexicanus)

My hat goes off to the master garden who designed the combination of the Heliotrope and African Daisy. Speaking of these flowers, I sure wish I could upload the scent of the Heliotrope as it's absolutely heavenly.

Taken BC (before coronavirus) In July 2019 at the National Gallery Victoria when I was attending a Meetup for the Walk and Shoot group. Our theme was composition.
The installation of porcelain decorative objects in coloured vitrines was situated in the forecourt of the gallery. It was interesting to watch people interact with it. The following link gives more information about it if you are interested.

The display creates a unique dialogue between historical artefacts and contemporary design, as the architects explain:
