I came by these wonderful old B & W photos by way of my aunt. She was at a Scrap Booking convention/ retreat in the Red Woods of northern Calif. This woman sitting at the same table as my aunt, threw out three old photo albums full of family photos & post cards from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. The lady said the albums once belonged to her mother in law and since she didn't know the people in the photos she tossed the albums in the trash. My aunt later went dumpster diving and initially gave me one album and she kept the other two, then had a change of mind and gave me the other two albums.
You don't have to know the people to enjoy the photos. Well just like the old sayings go, "A picture is worth a 1000 words", or "One man's trash is another man's treasure"
Hey I could use a little help. If you recognize people or places or vehicles please speak up, add your comments please.

Needed a photoshoot to show the quality of work I use while creating animal skin headdresses. So here's a photo that my boyfriend Jake took (edited by me). That's me wearing my Halloween costume - a headdress made from a coywolf skin. Poor animal was eating sheep, so the Fish and Game Department gave authorization to cull it. They later confirmed that it was the product of a wolf-coyote interbreeding, hence the enormous size and unusual coloration. While a normal coyote is only about 45" from nose to tip of the tail, this sucker was 68". And his fur is an appropriate shade of pumpkin orange!
I can create headdresses such as this from just about any tanned fur you hand me. Bobcat, wolf, African black-backed jackal....you name it, I'll do it (so long as it's legal, of course!).
Using basic taxidermy techniques, I can re-mold the face of the skin to make it look more realistic, as it sometimes becomes deformed or distorted in the tanning process. If needed, I open up the eye holes a bit so that a person can see through them. I then sew on a felt backing to protect the leather from ripping while the wearer is dancing or walking about. Charms, feathers, and beads are optional, of course, but can add a lot of character. This one has recycled glass beads and found feathers added to it.

Sometimes my husband hands me something that he wrote for me to help him decipher. Other times, he takes a deep breath and writes neatly. Obviously, when he made this label, he took the time to write legibly.
It was fun hanging out with him in the garage today while he made some art. Seriously, his drawer of 'Cool Stuff' really does have some cool stuff in there.
