a southern carmine bee eater(merops nubicoides) cooling on his perch.
this beautiful bird is the biggest african bee eater (till 38cm).
as they need a lot of big flying insects they visit southern parts of africa just in summer season
when they can find enough food.
they spent winter in central africa.

It got up to 39 degrees while I was washing my car. So the only way to cool off was to hose myself down😁

Was so quiet, peaceful and serene this calm morning after fresh snowfall the night before. Only one other camper across the lake and they slept in. :-))
A storm builds above Mt.Sinopah (yes, one of my most photographed peaks) across Pray Lake. The Two Medicine part of Glacier Park is great medicine for the soul.

The distant peaks across Idaho's Little Redfish Lake are not the primary theme with this image. It was the mix of fascinating clouds above and reflected below on the calm waters. Thought it worked well in b/w, perhaps more dramatically then an earlier post in technicolor (in comments).

The Pilot Vessel leaves to return to its station after we safely negotiated a stretch of the Norwegian Inside Passage on our recent Cruise.
Unfortunately both these places are not open at present. I feel so bad for the restaurants. I believe Legends did take out but that is still a loss.

Geranium is a genus of 422 species of flowering annual, biennial, and perennial plants that are commonly known as the cranesbills. They are found throughout the temperate regions of the world and the mountains of the tropics, but mostly in the eastern part of the Mediterranean region. The long, palmately cleft leaves are broadly circular in form. The flowers have five petals and are coloured white, pink, purple or blue, often with distinctive veining. Geraniums will grow in any soil as long as it is not waterlogged. Propagation is by semiripe cuttings in summer, by seed, or by division in autumn or spring. Confusingly, geranium is also the common name of members of the genus Pelargonium, which are also in the Geraniaceae family and are widely grown as horticultural bedding plants. The shape of the flowers offers one way of distinguishing between the two genera Geranium and Pelargonium. Geranium flowers have five very similar petals, and are thus radially symmetrical (actinomorphic), whereas Pelargonium (and also Erodium) flowers have two upper petals which are different from the three lower petals, so the flowers have a single plane of symmetry. 34569
Probably a slight exaggeration, but after all this is Echo Point in the highlands of Kerala. Kerala is a district in Southern India highly regarded for its beautiful natural wonders. This is only one area that delights people. To think that I almost did not include this in my itinerary.
The reason was that I had spent time in the highlands of Sri Lanka and thought nothing could surpass the glorious vistas and landscape of that area. Well, beware if your mind ever goes to that place. You just might miss an opportunity of a lifetime. I have never seen an area quite as beautiful as the hillsides and lakes of this paradise in India!
