Breeding Ibis at Coolart, Victoria, Australia

Visited the Australian white Ibis to see them nesting.

Managed to land some shots despite the less than favorable weather!

Stoneybatter, historically known as Bohernaglogh, now one of the coolest places to live, the "hipster quarter " of Dublin.

Welcome to Stoneybatter, just a .....stones thrown from the City Centre.

Some festive cheer & proud of themselves, a number 37 hybrid bus ( very hipster ) heads towards Wilton Terrace.

This handsome Ibis was showing very clearly how it gets its name.

Focus on this bird was disappointingly soft so chose to add a classical soft focus filter to mask the fact.

Not convinced about it but presenting it for critique anyway!!

It was interesting to watch a small Australian White Ibis colony from a bird hide situated above their nests. There were all the breeding stages on show: the eggs, freshly hatched chicks and several juvenile birds.

Gotta love the late night sun on the sand it just a different kind of glow. There were really cool designs in the sand that night that really caught my eye. Hope everyone has a lovely Easter Sunday 😊☀️

Last three images in the set which comfortably cropped to this aspect ratio.

Taken in and around the gardens of Coolart Homestead and Wetlands, Somers.

... or is it some type of work-life-balance ;-))

This is one of ten sculptures called "Säulenheilige" artist Christof Pöggeler presents on top of advertising pillars in Düsseldorf

Had to lie on the sand to get this shot. And others. Until a wave caught me. The bird was probably laughing. Fortunately I was able to hold the camera above the water. Many narrow escapes over the years, but I still haven't lost a camera to the ocean. The lengths we go to, to get the right perspective.

I love the patterns left by the water.

The bird's feet seem to sink / disappear into the soft sand on the edge.

Pardalotus punctatus. Seen at Coolart Wetlands and Homestead Reserve, in Somers on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. While I was watching the waterbirds from the upper storey of the Minsmere hide I heard a faint scratching noise, looked out of the side window, and there on the lower tin roof of the first floor was - Mr. Pardalote!

An excursion with my birding group on a grey day started well, and kept getting better. This Rosella took off just as I was about to photograph it, so the speed was a bit slow. I like the sense of movement the blurred wings give.

I've too seldom photographed these beautiful large gulls.

A small flock worked their way up and down the coast so I caught up on some overdue photos.

This one (juvenile) flew right over my head and seemed to be looking back inquisitively as I turned to keep photographing it.

Good to be able to see both sorts of Wattlebird we have in Melbourne. I do like the markings of the Little Wattlebird.

If failure is no success at all, then this is an attempt to turn that on its head.. :)

An original piece going for a song...

One of the areas that is normally a waterway, but is dense with plants. We spotted movement and realised it was this Silvereye, hunting for food and then popping up onto this branch to perch.
