One of my cookies that was published in Cake Central magazine last month.

I was recently inspired to take a stab at decorating cookies..... I've definately still got some work to do -- but they don't look to shabby.... I think Imight like a fondant type better than royal frosting... since these cookies are already sweet...

It's a work in progress!!

im Sure the suspense is killing you... Who Won?? well... Both! see... ive learned something about myself with this whole 'eat like a bear or have a heart attack by 35'... i Am Not a gung ho person... never have been... most likely never will be... i cant start a 'diet' and maintain it... i cant devise a workout plan and just Run with it (haha..Total pun intended!) ... if theres a 'you HAVE to do this' cloud swirling around my head then ill fall into my usual habit.... ill stick my tongue out at it.. flip it the bird and tell it to piss off!!! and That is why i... like SO many others.. have failed... well... im here to tell you all this... i figured out How to make peace with the cloud!! since the carrot in my life has NO chance against the cookie... and since the cookie is trying to Kill my ass... i figured.. why not put a stop to the war?!? why not learn to live with Both? thats not so overwhelming!! heres what i did.... i have replaced the big 3 meals with chicken and fish and fresh fruits and vegetables and all that other non tasty crap... great... however... times like this afternoon will arrive when theres gonna be a tantalizing treat staring me in the face... saying 'no' is such a Negative thing!! it feels like a punishment and the child in me Hates being punished!! it makes me want to rebel and just scream 'F this! im just gonna eat whatever i want!!'... and then im back to square one stuffing my face with giant ass chili cheese dogs and double dipped ice cream cones... no good!! so heres my plan... make good decisions 90% of the time... save the other 10% for my sanity ;) THIS im pretty sure i can manage ;) ;)

I have been baking A LOT the past 2 months. I finally made one of the well known cookies: Snickerdoodles

Cookie decorating with the Aunts continued this year.

sugar cookies with fondant and pearls for a friend's bday.

There are no cookies here, need to go shopping, must settle for a picture of a cookie. I'm sure there are some therapy hours to be spent with that admission.

Not sure why I am sharing this…but those cookies look tasty right now.

I designed this for kids to make using a variety of cutters. My son then requested them for his class for his birthday last year

Sorry for the low res images, I am still uploading via cellphone.

I made this myself with MAC paintbrush! It's a Katara cookie, can you tell? You know, Katara from Avatar.

I've been baking Play-Doh cookies again this year because they're just so delicious.

I was in such a rush yesterday that I took only a few shots in about 5 minutes before I had to set them out for everyone to eat. I think I'll be baking some more this week perhaps, since they're such a hit, and I want to get some better pictures of them, of course.

Happy Monday!

These were mostly all TKCakes (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tkcakes/). I can only really take credit for baking the cookies and making the middle cookie made with fondant, edible marker and a brushed on phone (I love clipart). These were chocolate chip cutout cookies. These were made for our direct reports as part of Customer Service Week.

Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies

(One of my cousins sent me this recipe, which is different than the one that's on the Nieman Marcus site. Not sure what's what, but this recipe is really yummy with oatmeal and lots of chocolate. Also, I split the dough and only added nuts to half.)

2 cups butter

1 tsp. salt

4 cups flour

1 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)

2 tsp soda

4 eggs

2 cups sugar

2 tsp. baking powder

5 cups blended oatmeal

3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)

24 oz. chocolate chips

2 tsp. vanilla

2 cups brown sugar

Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender or food processor to a fine powder.

Cream the butter and both sugars.

Add eggs and vanilla. Mix.

Add flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. mix altogether.

Add chocolate chips, Hershey bar, and nuts.

Roll into balls and place 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. (Note to myself: Our oven seems to run a little on the hot side, so 9 minutes at 360 degrees worked better.)

Best chocolate chip cookies I've made in decades.
