The Crab Cooker in Newport Beach, California, has been a favorite of locals and tourists alike since it opened more than fifty years ago. I thought a watercolor rendition would best capture the nostalgic heritage of the restaurant

Don't put the potatoes on just yet

"What was your worst cooking experience?"

When I made toast using the cooker, but closed the oven door. Apparently cookers don't like that. It causes them to like... you know... catch fire.

*Wedge walks into the kitchen... Wedge opens oven door... flames jump out of door... Wedge doesn't know what to do* 'Er... MUUUUUUUUUUUM!'

(My kitchen does actually look like that... now you'll all be able to stalk me by looking through all the kitchen windows in the country)

Great little gem from the TV house in what was a very dark room but just could not resist taking on this fella :)

A friend has not been well and his kitchen is being remodeled so I made him some soup. At least his microwave is still usable.

A dusty, antique kitchen sits in silence in an abandoned mill. Way out in the Luxembourg countryside, the place seems to have been left deserted suddenly as many of the original owners possessions are still in situ. Something about this image makes me think of Vermeer and his household scenes.

This is a reprocess and new crop of an earlier shot.

Thrilled to announce I won 2nd place in the NVAL international photo show based out of California. This image made it into the final 98 gold selection images from several thousand total entries.

The juror, Crista Dix said ""This photograph brings together the ideas of painting and photography. Filled with magic light, the still life quality of the composition, and the simple beauty of the interior all combines to create an image that connects me to the past, yet fills me with a sense of the people who inhabit this place."

These cookers and boilers at Whalers Bay, Deception Island, were used to extract oil from whale carcasses from 1912-1931. The only land-based whaling operation in Antarctica was here.

Couldn't resist the sunlight streaming in to the house. Just had to take a shot for Macro Mondays. Found this light bulb in the garage. Put it on some white paper and took a few shots :-)
