This place was absolutely incredible. I was entertained for hours, running among the slowly decaying/preserved art installations in the desert. This man was a genius. He co-founded the Watts Towers Art Center and was a founding member of the California Arts Council.

Air Atlantique were awarded a UK Department of Transport contract for Marine Pollution Control on 1 Nov 1987. G-AMCA was one of two C-47s fitted with spray gear for the task, and had only just returned to Coventry two weeks previously after having flown all the way to Greybull, Wyoming to get the conversion done at Hawkins & Powers. There was presumably a good reason why it couldn't have been done a bit closer to home, though; flying a Dakota across the Atlantic twice is not something to be taken lightly!
