One of our residents. The yellow-rumped thornbill ( Acanthiza chrysorrhoa). A very good house keeper, keeping the insects at bay around the house.
If l had a totem this would be it, the tiny thing that speaks a lot, and cleans around the house so that it can be enjoyed.

One of the young swallows that is raised and reared under our veranda every year.
Although the rain down the east coast of Australia is horrendous in its effect, the little rain we got, helped this one and the others, as they were starving.
It also helped the thousands of frogs we get every year, which at times are so loud you can here them through the walls and windows.
l once heard that swallows do little push ups in the nest to condition themselves for flight, a process used before they take that first leap of faith. Apparently the story goes that when a young swallow can lift its own weight with its wings then it is ready to fly.

An early morning trip to try and find the Red Deer turned out to be a fabulous moment. The mist was in the valley bottoms and the Deer had read the script and turned up on cue

Thanks goes out to Walter who gave me the mono-pod that was used to take the image.
l have found that the lens a Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary needs to be as steady as possible, in order to get sharp images, and the aid of a tripod or mono pod greatly helps.
It should be noted that l am older, and at times have shaking hands, due to health issues, for the price it is a stunning lens.
Having seen a few shots of these Dragon fly's in flight i decided to have a go myself. I'm not totally satisfied with it, but its a start.

Looking rather motley in a way Motley Crew never where, pictured is a Superb Fairy Ren beside the lake, Shepparton Victoria Australia. Every spring the male birds change from a drab colour to a brilliant blue. The male bird pictured is just starting to change colour.

There are not many Red Deer running wild in the Peak District. So i thought finding them would be a bit of a problem, In fact It proved to be the exact opposite, within minutes of getting out of the car I heard the Stags bellowing. Five minutes later this was my first shot of the day.
Almost SOOC- just levels and curves. No sliders or manipulations unless you include my back which may never feel quite the same after twisting my reflective objects around with one hand whilst shooting with the other..
Can only achieve this level of brightness in my conservatory in bright daylight...
