About 5 miles from the Panamanian town of Boquete is the small town of Palmira. It is there we found lodging at the residence of Frank and Claudia. In a remarkable feat frank put together a collection of 27 shipping containers, stacked them up and with welding torch and a whole lot of skill made this into a home with several rentals. It's an ongoing project and will be in the years to come. We enjoyed our stay there.
Ton's of baskets! I can't tell you how many times I've helped unload one of these containers, in the heat of the summer! UGH! What a job!
I love this container, but not sure if it will be too small for these hen & chicks and other assorted sedums that I've sorta "borrowed" from various places.
*Update! Here's my "after" picture of this container garden!

Containers are an ideal method of moving merchandise around countries and continents !
Most containers have been designed to travel on trucks, trains and ships. They usually last around eight years before structural problems in the ends, sides and corner posts start to develop !
They often end their lives being sold off as storage units where they can last many more years as they are no longer subject to the stress and strain of regular handling from cranes and fork lift trucks.

A storage container appeared on the west lot while we were in Tonopah for a Westercon 74 committee meeting.
I like how this rather loopy cat candy container (head removes to conceal candies within) has vampire fangs. He sits peculiarly on a smiling JOL. What the heck does he have to smile about?

I discovered an amazing location full of possibilities! Requires weekend visits and evading suspicious security guards.
