one of the most important parts of my daily routine.
macro mondays theme: daily routine
have a great new week!
Handle with care, don't swap them if you do will results that you will not have a clear view.
Made for Macro Monday "handle with Care"
Last Saturday there were 600,000 extra people here in Düsseldorf for Japan day. There was a really great atmosphere, the sun shone and the costumes were truly awesome!
I wear spectacles all of the time these days but found a few sets of old contact lenses as I was trying to think of what to do for the theme this week. I know it is not an 'eye' but without these, or my spectacles, my eyes would miss most of what goes on. HMM everyone!
Coiuld fit themes for both 7DWF and upcoming Macro Mondays. Contact lens is round and is captured on a fingertip
I only went in for an eye examination, next thing I knew I was under general anasthetic for the "fitting" of my new contact lenses...
It's a little bit more drastic than I thought it would be...
*sobs*
Anyway, I know you'd love to:
Strobist:
Bowens Gemini Pro 500 with brilliantly big softbox above camera pointing down at 45 degrees, set on 3.0. Two other Bowens with disappointingly smaller softboxes camera left and right at 60 degrees pointing at shocked idiot, both set on 3.0. Triggered by PC cord cable.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Eye(s)'.
Title taken from a 1977 recording by Crystal Gayle, though those lyrics had nothing to do with tinted contact lenses!

i shot this with the canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM macro plus a marumi close-up +4 filter, using EOS utility's remote live view. you can see the reflection of my eye in the software window on the monitor.
you can also see my contact lens.
i started out trying one of those super-close-ups of the iris, but it really isn't that interesting so i backed off.
Still life exercise for the day. A contact lens.
Lighting info: Subject on black acrylic. 1 x 3 Softbox on a Profoto B10 Plus behind object facing camera. Profoto A1X with 10 degree grid camera right.
just changed white balance in post to "cool" the pic a bit, otherwise SOOC
ive had these contacts for like 2 years now, a red one and a black one.
shes wearing both in this shot, but the black had trouble really popping in the pic so i started composing differently, until i came up with this one. im a big fan of "odd" or "dramatic" compositions and this is no exception
They soak over night in a peroxide solution which is neutralised as it reacts with the catalyst (minimum of six hours or they really sting when I put them in my eyes,)

I attended a cosplay event in Stockton, California. Cosplay is short for costume play. The term コスプレ (kosupure) was coined in Japan in 1984. Cosplaying as a hobby started to get popular in the 1990s, and is now a significant aspect of popular culture in Japan and other parts of East Asia, as well as in the Western world.
I'll show a print of this portrait of cosplaying Meena at my upcoming exhibition called Spirit of Japan: Then & Now. If you are around please join the opening reception on August 2nd at the Art Ark Gallery in San Jose, California.
I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photos from two RAW exposures, manually stacked them, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow.
It's what sunflowers do.

Posed portrait of a young woman in her cosplay costume. I applied a light green filter which I think compliments her hair colour and green eyes.

Here is my wife's dress, with deep V-neck. Thanks to the technical progress, that make real-looking silicone breast forms affordable - now I able to wear it too.
In general I avoid hard light (especially on-camera flash). It highlights face and makeup lack. Wig gets shine and looks artificial. Pantyhose should be in perfect condition and really good quality.
But here I used 2 flash light without umbrellas and soft-boxes and I love the effect of glossy dress. Wolford pantyhose looks perfect as well. And makeup still not bad. Am I right?
