In case you couldn't tell, I love vans. Specifically the 60's forward-control vans. More specifically, 60's forward control vans produced by Chevrolet. This is my attempt at capturing what is known as a "second-gen" Chevy van, produced between 1967-1970 as an update to the earlier platform. While these vans are strikingly similar on the outside with a few cosmetic differences, underneath they are almost entirely different from 64-66 vans. I've tried to build this one studs-out instead of studs-up, in an attempt to capture some beltline character. As always, comments and constuctive criticisms are welcome, and thanks for looking!

I love art and I Love to share, and Constuctive input, gives drive,,,

I've been listening to this song for about ten times now Arctic Monkeys - 505. Have a go, you might like it too :D

I'm going back to 505,

If its a 7 hour flight or a 45 minute drive,

In my imagination you're waiting lying on your side,

With your hands between your thighs.

Some Starbucks wisdom on the first day of my 366 project.

I struggled with this one, or the same picture in B&W, because the picture is about the sentiment on the cup and not the cup itself. What do you think?

This is a great group and a great project and I'm looking forward to learning a lot. I actually took 11 pictures with differing apertures because I'm trying to learn what works with the 50mm 1.8. I'm hoping to become a better photographer by having the camera in my hand on a daily basis.

Constuctive criticism is appreciated!

Been a while since I've uploaded a 'Fun Friday' shot. My intention for Fun Fridays is to just go crazy with post-processing without really worrying too much about the results. It's a great excuse to experiment without worrying about the end result.

Today's case was this Haunted Mansion shot. Straight Out Of Camera it really had nothing special to it. Not to mention the bright Florida sun & blue sky behind it. Not a very foreboding feeling at all.

In Lightroom I started pulling down the exposure and tweaking the saturation. Then, I exported over to OnOne's PhotoFrame Pro (which I just picked up a few weeks ago) to add a bit of the emulsion around the edges along with some old-school style camera borders.

I'll write up more info about PhotoFrame at another date, but I just want to say after applying the frame I ran into some odd issues on this particular photo. For some reason PhotoFrame over-wrote my original. Luckily, I had a copy of it - but I'll have to try and figure out why that happened, as this was the first time I ran into that issue.

Anyhow, with the frames applied, I tweaked the shot a bit more in Lightroom to give it an slight, old-timey feel.

Then that was it - a few keywords added and uploaded to Flickr. See, Fun :)

Thanks for perusing my photo stream this week. I really appreciate any and all comments. If you have constuctive criticism please feel free to share - I'm all ears.

Have a great weekend everyone

-Alan

One of my first tries at adding a texture. Wasn't sure if I used to much?

Thanks to everyone for all your constuctive comments!

12th March 2010, Hamburg - Jungfernstieg

I just tried a new editing, i would like to hear your constuctive critic (haha:D), so:

Do you like the picture and way of editing?

From some light experiment photos I took last year. This is a clear, acrylic storage jar sprayed with a bit of water to add texture and interference in the light wavelength (more of that in a bit). Behind the jar is a laptop with a white JPG and a Sony macro lens with a polarizing filter.

Without the filter, you would usually see the acrylic container, a very small amount of a rainbow effect (if at all), and the water droplets. But with the polarizing filter, I could stretch out the white light behind the jar to create "constructive interference" or a rainbow effect. The water droplets created their own effects with blending the bands of color or even creating "destructive interference" (the black/dark areas on the droplets).

Just got haircut thannnnkGOD ! my hair felt like a shapeless mop.

Lauren and I spent a rather grey Sunday creating some images inspired by Nike running adverts. It was a very productive shoot and great fun.

Comments and constuctive critisim welcome.

Strobist: Shoot through umbrella cam right.

Again, due to the busy background i found myself doing some more selective color editting. Of course, now it is turning into a complete series of these kind of pictures!!

Do not hesitate to add constuctive comments on how to improve composition and editting skills!!

I aready seen that i could have composed this a bit better by turning the camera a bit to the left so they would be more centered.

This is a WIP of my submission for the BAMM exhibition based on the following passge:

And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads

The bit that i need input in, is the river - which i currently have as mirror, but i cannot decide if it works or not. When reading the passage from the Bible, it maybe does, but the mosaic in isolation, maybe it doesn't.

thoughts please!

You know, I don't usually show baby faces on the pics I upload, but this cute lil'girl is the daughter of my friends and they feel really ok in sharing it. Btw, you'll never know who they are, so I feel pretty ok about uploading this too.

It's not my first attempt in portaiting but I'm not really good at it, I know this is overexposed and could have a better composition. Feel free to give me any advice you can! I really appreciate constuctive criticism :D

Bushcraft Bob, in the foreground on the left, must have used some kind of Jedi mind trick to get everyone, bar him, to chip in and build a massive shelter. Note the sensible people in the background offering constuctive advice on the correct way to lean against trees.
