When I'd inquire of this potential subject if I may photograph him as part of my ongoing series "Men After Work" he said 'Yes'. When I'd ask where he was from he replied "... Prince Frederick MD!"

Hyderabad: Two construction workers died and 10 others were injured when an under-construction building of Film Nagar Cultural Centre (FNCC) collapsed at Film Nagar on Sunday morning.

The workers were laying a huge cement slab on the roof of the first floor when the front side of the building...

You really do need to have a man with this clarity of vision and problem solving ability with materials immediately to hand working for you and not the opposition.

While having breakfast with Richard at McDonald in SW at the corner of South Capitol and I Streets I'd read an article in December 2005 isssue of The Southwester www.swdc.org pertaining to the 23 October 2005 dedication of the Peace Memorial Garden which on 1 October, located at the corner of M and South Capitol Streets in SW, I had unknowingly photographed two Men At Work www.flickr.com/photos/perspective/54733736/in/photostream/ who at the time were preparing the soil for the future garden.

When Richard mentioned that he was going outside, of McDonalds, to the patio to take a smoke and would return, inside, in a few mintues to continue reading the paper I'd say that I would head back home ... and take some pictures ... along the way!

Wanting to photograph the newly installed Peace Memorial Garden I'd walk along Eye, turn right unto First Street and walk toward M Street. Since in September 2005 I had begun photographing "Men At Work" www.flickr.com/photos/perspective/31594129/in/set-705008/ in the Unit Block of M Street and so as to add a few more images to that collection www.flickr.com/photos/perspective/sets/705008/ I would take this series of images before heading over to Peace Memorial Garden, which is just a block up the street.

The hutong around my apartment are currently being transformed. This is a rather common phenomenon in Beijing currently. Mostly authorities simply tear down the hutong so as to build 0815 shopping malls instead. Horrible to look at. This hutong, however, is being transformed. They leave most of the original construction but rebuild the interior. I kind of like this idea since it walks the thin line between preserving and increasing the living standard. I loved this scene for the shaddows..

Brooklyn on a Saturday afternoon

"Construction workers eating lunch on a beam" in real life! They said hi.

It made me laugh a little thinking of the famous image of the 1930's. Also, I will take this opportunity to link to one of my favorite Brooklyn Bridge pictures of all time: painters, in three-piece suits, posing in the air.

Construction workers were having their lunch break and here they are going back to the work site. These two seemed to be the best friends...they even walked the same pace!

Citing the alarming rise in construction related deaths (in the last two years, 30 construction workers have been killed while on the job), hundreds of hardhat construction workers, along with elected officials and community leaders, gathered near New York City Hall on January 18, 2017, to demand the City Council to pass the Construction Safety Act, a series of bills that will provide for true professional training to improve the safety of all construction workers and the general public. Dozens of hardhat construction workers engaged on peaceful civil disobedience leading to multiple arrests.
