I took this photo at Paradise Beach less than one month after hurricane Wilma struck the island of Cozumel with a direct hit. Nails, concrete, broken glass, and construction debris littered a beach that is normally sugar white sand.
Since the economy of Cozumel is based on tourism, the rush was on to get the island back up and running for tourists...perhaps too soon. The sounds of hammers, chainsaws, and construction workers made a normally tranquil beach quite loud.

I spent about 10 minutes waiting for the right person to walk past this artwork behind London's Southbank Centre and under Waterloo Bridge. It was too much to hope that someone would come through dressed like Alex from A Clockwork Orange but this worker's orange garb was the next best thing. The mosaic is part of a series of pixelated tile installations created by the French street artist Invader.
