Loved the detail in this photo. Clean lines and the colors pop out :)

Still building at the National Harbor!

This is under the guest bath. I like the level taped to the pipe, which he had to do because he's only one person.

Temporary bridge to aid construction of the Chinese rail line.

This is the view from my side. so we are looking at the inside face of the wall.

Notice how the wall at the far end is angled towards my green shed. The old wall that was here before was crooked so we had to respect the established boundaries and retain the angle.

I was disappointed with the quality of the final finish. I've had a brick wall built before by another builder and the finish was much cleaner.

There is a lot of mortar on the bricks, particularly over the blue bricks which run along the top.

The final stage is slotting in the fence panels between the concrete pillars. This will hopefully be completed over the weekend.

The road is still under construction, there are no traffic draws.

Yet another new building popping up overnight at the High Line, this time at the south end along Washington.

This is the construction site where once the World Trade center stood. It's sad to look at it, though the ongoing construction makes it look like any other building project.

Construction Site:

I'm out of my element obviously, today it was raining, so I stayed in the area and found nothing worth shooting - until I did. On saturday nobody was working there and I was able to spend an hour looking at the textures and colors, the wear, signs of use and also the new pipelines laying around. Actually the colors are quite interesting. Of course I know it might be hard to understand the fascination of such hardware. I'm aware this is also a sign such "things" are nothing I usually deal with -- that might be the reason I see them as "objects" rather. This shows how much of one self really is when it comes to photography, even at the stage of choosing a subject. For example I wouldn't think of my desk as an photo oportunity, because I see it every day ...
