Placed against a wall, console tables used to be among the most lavishly decorated pieces of furniture. Excellent craftsmanship, elegant design, slender members, and exceptionally fine details point its origin to the talleres of Binondo-based Chinese master furniture maker, Ah Tay. The elaborate lower components of the table echo the graceful serpentine shape, molded edge, and turreted corners of the top. The frieze drawer is carved with a basketweave pattern of diagonal openwork plaiting, centering a scrolled cartouche pull. There is an abundance of crisp and fine carvings of flowers, foliates, C- and S-scrolls on the apron, knees and x-stretcher centering a superbly carved bulbous urn finial, an Ah Tay trademark. The curvaceous legs with carved beading along the edges end in whorl feet. This elegant table is enriched by the distinct interlocking grain and honey-colored luster of narra wood.

Also, my cigarette lighter doesn't work. Replacing the fuse doesn't do the trick, which I'm told means there's something wrong with the electrical system. I don't smoke, but it would be nice to charge a cell phone, etc. I've seen some traditional A/C outlets showing up in new car models, and I'd hope that replaces this outdated feature in most new cars.
That little button on the gear shift is the overdrive button. I don't quite understand what it does and I've never pushed it. I think if I do, it might eject the passenger seat Goldfinger-style through the roof.

For those who don't know, MyFx Console had an increase in its price from $99 to $249 for 12 month license last week. But here is the good news.
I caught this shot from at about 100ft.
I had been observing these two for only a short period of time but it became increasingly clear I happened upon something quite real... I questioned whether or not I belonged in this moment but I just felt if I approached it with the same kind of care as the man kneeling down to console his friend, it could be OK, somehow...

The Etruscan Console was inspired by furnishings of ancient Rome. Etruscan is the modern name given to a civilization of ancient Italy. Its homeland was in the area of central Italy, just north of Rome, which is today called Tuscany. Culture that may be positively identified as Etruscan developed in Italy after about 800 BC. Around 500 BC the political destiny of Italy passed out of Etruscan hands, but the decline was gradual. The last of the Etruscan cities were formally absorbed by Rome around 100 BC. Ancient Roman architecture began with Etruscan styles which later gave way to Greek influence. The Etruscan Console was designed by Shah Gilani, ASFD. The base is offered in multiple sizes with various top options such as glass, stone, and wood. With its understated elegance, it makes an exceptional entryway table or sofa table for upscale residential and hospitality interiors. Robust metal construction of the base allows it to support heavy tops without shaking. Four polished bronze glides are provided which also serve as levelers – a useful feature to have when the floor is uneven. The serpent detail on the stretcher may be deleted upon request. The console base is offered in a variety of finishes. It has polished bronze accents. Custom sizing is available.
