My sister and I thought it would be fun and useful for us to make a video about how we shop smart for secondhand items. Since we've both been going to flea markets, yard sales, and secondhand stores our whole lives, we've definitely learned so much about getting the best deals. While not all of these tips will apply to everyone, I hope that they can help at least a few people out. We also share some of our secondhand online shopping experiences too, since buying dolls on eBay and other websites can be a great, affordable option as well. I think the most important thing to take away from this video is to never be discouraged when you come home empty handed--persistence and patience is key. There are a lot of weekends my sister and I strike out at the flea market, but then there are the days when we find oodles of goodies. Secondhand shopping can be so rewarding and affordable, which is why it's such a huge part of my doll collection--whether it is the thrill of finding unexpected treasures or the satisfaction of restoring a doll that was inches away from being thrown out!

No but seriously I hate to seem to come across as smug but one of the lifelessons here is that if for some reason you want to present your English-language texts triangularly, the triangles ought to be tall enough that they will establish hierarchies sufficient to override native English speakers' strong inclinations to read left-to-right.

A few of the empty stores in town have been filling back up. One new business is the Sassy Fox Consignment which will be opening soon. I'm looking forward to seeing the inside.

Cotton is the official greeter at The Gentleman's Closet, an upscale men's consignment store in the Five Points district of Columbia. I had not visited the store for about six years, and I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted once more by this wonderful dog. He is 14 years old now and moves at a slower pace. He usually hangs out with the owners in the rear of the shop, but faithfully comes to the front to greet every shopper as they enter. A wonderfully gentle animal.
Note: Since this photo was originally posted, I learned that Cotton recently has gone to his final rest. Those that knew him would say he was a good dog.
