Whether this consignment of marble for the house being built in the background was already broken when it came off the ship or got broken between the harbour and the site, I don't know.

What I do know is the immense frustration of waiting for (a) how long would it take to come; and (b) what sort of condition would it be in when it got here. We were quite lucky with our new doors and windows - "only" 9 months for them to arrive - luckily only 5% broken - another year for the replacements to arrive despite holding back 50% of the contract price.

I'm glad I can just chill and take photos now ... :-)

If I had a place for this, I would own it.
