This is a work by a human who wakes up in the middle of the night, thinking dead people are alive and that she should call them. And that same human can't get back to sleep.
This is a work by a human who suffers, laments, thinks a lot about life and realizes this is what separates the conscious from the unconscious.
This is a work of someone who is interested in all layers of consciousness and wish her subconscious would communicate more with her non subconscious so that she knew how she truly felt about reality before she went to sleep and was unconscious.
This is also the work of someone who feels that to be conscious means one must have a conscience.
This is the work by a human who struggles with the idea that she would ever really be unconscious even if she were in a coma.

This is the work of magic desolation, textures, and light. Let's keep thinking about these things and realizing things about ourselves.

I had been with this bird for some time waiting to see the open tail , but nothing, then a noisy group on small children arrived , I was with the flamingos and suddenly he gave a scream and opened his tail, I had to run back to him to take some shots, and he was so regal and sure of his beauty..... he turned to me when he saw I was taking pictures !! a really regal and sociable peacock !

Architect Erick van Egeraat consciously chose the color white for the new construction of the Drents Museum. White is neutral, so that the museum's colorful collection comes into its own. White also provides an exciting contrast with the historic buildings of the museum. The contrast should draw visitors down from the dark coach house. “You even get the feeling that downstairs is upstairs,” says the architect.
The floating stairs in the new building of the Drents Museum weigh 16,000 kilos each and are only attached to the upper and lower floors.

“Tortitude” – The Unique Personality of Tortoiseshell Cats

Tortitude = tortoiseshell cat personality
Tortoiseshell cats are named for their distinctive coloring – a combination of patches of black, brown, amber, red, cinnamon and chocolate. The size of the patches varies from a fine speckled pattern to large areas of color. The term “tortoiseshell” is used for cats with brindled coats that have few or no white markings. Cats of this coloring with larger areas of white fur are called calicos. Sometimes, these colors present in lighter versions such as lilac or cream. Torties with this lighter coloring are called dilute torties. Occasionally, the typical tortoiseshell colors are also seen in a tabby (striped) pattern, and these cats are sometimes referred to as “torbies.”
Tortoiseshell cats are almost exclusively female. Tortoiseshell and calico coats are the result of the interaction between genetic and developmental factors. The occasional and very rare male tortoiseshell cat is the result of a genetic mutation.
In addition to their distinctive coloring, torties also have a reputation for unique personalities, sometimes referred to as “tortitude.” They tend to be strong-willed, a bit hot-tempered, and they can be very possessive of their human. Other words used to describe torties are fiercely independent, feisty, and unpredictable. They’re usually very talkative and make their presence and needs known with anything from a hiss to a meow to a strong purr.
My Note: I would say Ruthie is insistent! When Miss Ruth wants to be fed something new and different than what she is given, she will call with a series of rapid intense meows, in a loud demanding tone.
These traits are stronger in tortoiseshell cats than in calicos – it seems as though these traits are somewhat diluted with the addition of more white to the color scheme.

Torties, i.e., Tortoiseshell Cats
Tortoiseshell describes a coat coloring found almost exclusively in female cats.[1][2] Also called Torties for short, they combine two colors other than white, either closely mixed or in large patches.[2] The colors are often described as red and black, but "red" can instead be orange, yellow, or cream[2] and "black" can instead be chocolate, grey, tabby, or blue.[2] A tortoiseshell cat with the tabby pattern as one of its colors is a Torbie.
"Tortoiseshell" is typically reserved for cats with relatively small or no white markings. Those that are largely white with tortoiseshell patches are described as tricolor,[2] tortoiseshell-and-white (in the United Kingdom), or calico (in Canada and the United States). Tortoiseshell markings appear in many different breeds as well as in non-purebred domestic cats.[3] This pattern is especially preferred in the Japanese Bobtail breed.[4]

Cats of this coloration are believed to bring good luck in the folklore of many cultures.[10] In the United States, these are sometimes referred to as money cats.[11] The Japanese Maneki Neko figurine is almost always a calico cat.
I am more and more convinced that if you are in dryness and such, these books only increase the problem (if it is a problem). At the same time I think we make problems for ourselves where there really are none. There is too much conscious “spiritual life” floating around us, and we are too aware that we are supposed to get somewhere. Well, where? If you reflect, the answer turns out to be a word that is never very close to any kind of manageable reality. If that is the case, perhaps we are already in that where. In which case why do we torment ourselves looking around to verify a fact which we cannot see in any case? We should let go our hold upon our self and our will, and be in the Will in which we are. Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a purple or pink day at Color my world Daily and we celebrate handles at the awesome Smile on Saturday group. As you can see, I’m back from my « endless » vacation and so is Mr. Egg. My first idea was to take a picture of Mr. Egg love handles but he is very self conscious about his body and wasn’t on board with that idea. So instead this is a picture of Mr.Egg standing on the edge of a fancy cup (is that a cup? Apparently it is a fancy dish for chicken broth or another kind of soup but I don’t know the exact name). As you can see the handle has some gold details since Mr. Egg is from a very rich family and this cup is part of a very fancy china set he had as part of his inheritance. From time to time, Mr. Egg loves to hang on the edge of this fancy handle and look at the world from a distance…and he wonders: what came first : an egg or a chicken soup ...Or can a love handle survive without love ?

After noting that the Edinburgh portion of the southbound Caledonian Sleeper departed from Waverley's platform 11 at 11.40pm, I checked out the empty stock movement and saw it was due to arrive from Polmadie CMD at 9.58pm, travelling as 5C11.
So, duly positioned on platform 10 to snap it as it arrived, it turned out the more pleasing shot was this one taken on platform 11 just after the loco had been uncoupled and the driver was carrying the connecting cable in hand - no doubt to save the shunter a lugging job as he moved the engine to the other end of the train ready for departure.
As mentioned the train goes forward as 1C11 at 11.40pm. At Carstairs it will be linked up with the Glasgow portion before heading south through the night with arrival at London Euston scheduled for 7.02am. The timings are relatively comfortable and on this occasion the travellers pulled into Euston 30 minutes ahead of schedule - no doubt the operators were happy seeing as the new sleeper stock was being used, on this occasion without incident, and presumably a few of the passengers were quite happy with the early alarm call too!

I've always found it very ironic that the one day in America designated for kindness and gratitude is also a day when the multitudes make a conscious choice to eat an animal when they don't have to.
It was my love of cats that made me decide to go vegetarian at 13 years old because I was taught to not discriminate against humans so why not apply the same to animals? How could I justify eating a pig, a turkey, a cow if I could never eat a cat or a dog? It made me question the way our society values some lives more than others and caused me to start thinking with a mind for social justice too. When systems say "It's ok to do this even when you feel this...." all you have to do is follow the money. Factory farming in this country in and of itself is a multi billion dollar industry that causes great harm to both animals and the environment. Why should we choose profit over the lives of animals as well as our own health?
There are so many stray cats in need of love and medical treatment. To me, it is like living in a city where you see people sleeping and begging on the street often. You feel like every dollar you give will never be enough. But, there's something to be said for when you are part of a vast world of great suffering and you help even one life.
This cat was found in a rescue orientated cat café and was actually provided with multiple medical treatments out of the pockets of the volunteers who worked there to keep it alive. One of the best cats I ever had, Buckley (named after Tim and Jeff), was a cat I adopted after a volunteer at the rescue agency paid over $2000 for a surgery, which I definitely would not have been able to afford at that time in my life. Buckley lived at least a decade in my arms and resembled this little guy. He would head butt me in bed and I'd lift up my blanket and he'd sleep and purr right beside me all night. When the time came for his life to end, I held him in my arms until his very last breath and I have no doubt he knew he was loved. All of this because someone said, "Yes, there is immeasurable suffering on this Earth but I can make a choice to make it less for this creature. "
