Lucky shot - I was hiking up a hill in the Marin Headlands near sunset and just happened across this cyclist reflecting on his journey. Shot for the "Landscapes" section of my CS178 course.

Conquer

Finally conquered Needle Peak! And that in the Winter, this was my third attempt. But as you can see the wind was insane up there. I couldn't even stand up or it would have just blown me right off the peak! Was so much fun and I am just exhausted right now ( the good kind ).

Mountain biking across the region of Kathmandu, Nepal for six hours was absolutely breathtaking. The journey challenged my moral, willpower, endurance and strength as I conquered steep, mile-long hills, rough single tracks, frenzied Nepali traffic, rocky roads, distant farmlands, muddy waters and much more.

Sojourners in a beautiful expanse.

2nd Lieut. Sherwin firing the Conqueror on the Hohne Ranges, 1956. He was probably "borrowing" a "C" Squadron machine as they were so unreliable that "A" Squadron's was, no doubt, out of action.

Again, this photograph first appeared in the Regimental Journal of 3rd The King's Own Hussars, Vol.V, No.3, April, 1957. It was then unattributed.
