I found this ring at a goldsmith in Kenmare, Ireland. It's full of symbolism to me : My love and I - we are two individuals, forming something new and beautiful together, being one and two at a time, supporting eachother's "gold". All this on a free will and in different playful shapes, but equal in our "yes" to truth and loyalty.
These are not our wedding rings, but my private little mind-supporters. ;)
Have a HMM !
A moment captured at a café in one of Melbourne's laneways having breakfast. We chose a window seat so we could watch the world go by. A group of people stopped right in front of us and this lady saw me with the camera. I love this image as it represents a momentary, very pleasant connection with a stranger.
he watches. and he waits. between them, trust measured in silence and steady gaze. sometimes the best conversations happen without words. palma, 2026.
Two trees at sunrise, with the light on the top of the fog layer. I picked this angle because it made the treed look connected in the center.
Most refreshing. I must get more appropriate glasses.
I have quite a few different glasses and love to match the beer (in this case) with the glass. Hence the title Tenuous Connection.
This road used to connect two different towns, but has been cut in two by a huge infrastructure project. I'm not sure if it will ever be re-opened, as it was never more than a gravel road to begin with.
The Nachtigall colliery is located at the entrance to the idyllic Muttental in Witten. Ruhr mining began here more than 300 years ago. First, horizontal tunnels were driven into the mountain to get to the “black gold”, and then vertical shafts.
Pole next to the former church that I thought has interesting wires and connections.

Sheffield Park and Garden is owned by the National Trust. The original landscaping was done by Capability Brown in the 18th century, but the woodland garden was developed in the early 20th century with trees from many different countries. I love our native trees, but they lack reds in the Autumn, so I always enjoy visiting Sheffield Park, where I can lose myself in wonderful, vibrant colour.
A small rope in our garden...
Excuse me for being late today, had a lot to do...
So i took the cam, took a picture, three minutes of lightroom and: here it is 'Connections!'

My take on the theme. All week I was going to do wires, plugs and connectors. Until this small ornament caught my eye…..
Many species of dandelions (Taraxacum) disperse their seeds by wind. After flowering is finished, the dandelion flower head dries out. The dried petals and stamens drop off, the bracts curve backwards, and the parachute ball opens into a full sphere. When development is complete, the mature seeds are attached to white, fluffy "parachutes" which easily detach from the seedhead and glide by wind, dispersing. This photo is a detail showing the bracts curving backwards. Some photo manipulation used to show the interconnections.

Hi friends!!
Its been an eternity since I have shared any of my portrait work here. I thought I would share some of my recent work so you could see what I've been up to over the summer and fall. This was one of my last engagement sessions of the year. Sweetest couple and loved that they brought their dog to incorporate into their session. Took them to one of my favorite places, Ihave several shots of this place in Pine here on Flickr. We have spent many hours here in the warmer seasons as a family. I love scouting out beautiful places and bringing people to them - especially when they show an appreciation for the outdoors. I am stressing a little as I embark into November. I have 12 more sessions to go this month and then I am checking out for the year!! The colder seasons really are harder to book as most people don't want to be outside. Plus I just need a well needed break. I'm ready to spend a quiet winter with my family hibernating haha! I am actually hoping to get some winter shooting in as I normally don't get out as much in the winter. Many of the roads to my favorite places are closed due to snow and last year many avalanches. So I'm wanting to explore some new places to be inspired by. I have some personal projects I really want to work on that utilize the snow and winter... I hope to fulfill my vision and have something worthwhile to show you all soon!
Have a a very happy weekend my dear friends!
much love always, Rachel
