A pair of Steel-blue Cricket Hunter Wasps circled my yard for several days. The only place they would stop was on the orange flowers of the Butterfly Weed.
They strongly resemble Blue Mud Dauber Wasps, which have a longer pedicel (the "stalk" that connects their thorax to their abdomen).
Butterfly Weed is a native plant species, and my favorite Michigan wildflower. Ironically, I have never seen a butterfly land on the flowers, although it does attract a variety of wasps and hornets.
A several hundred year old stone footbridge that crosses the Alzette river. It connects the Siechentor gate tower with the Eichertor gate tower. When Luxembourg was still a fortress, the bridge was part of the outer fortress wall and was equipped with embrasures.
Just a weird and crooked tree that has been topped and decided it will grow downwards into the earth and connect with the decaying bushes. The sky was clear and the water in the distance super still so wanted to create a dramatic shot with this wonderful tree dominating the frame. Taken at Nene Park, Cambridgeshire on a winters afternoon
The 1866 bridge connects Kentucky to Cincinnati, Ohio over the Ohio River. The bridge is named after its designer John A. Roebling who went on to build the Brooklyn Bridge.

Out there on your own on a stormy day, it's still pretty easy to stay connected - as this person seemed to be doing. For us over the last few weeks, it was more about some long overdue family time. Back home now, it will take a few days to catch up, but I look forward to seeing what my Flickr friends have been up to and re-connecting.
The Corniche d'Or road bordered by the clearest waters of the department connects the #Var and the Maritime Alps for 30 km, skirting the sea and overlooking the creeks.

The Gravestenenbrug is a drawbridge, intended for pedestrians in the center of the city of Haarlem. The current bridge dates from 1950 and replaced the bridge that had been in place for around 600, if not 800 years. The bridge connects the bank of the Korte Spaarne on the Binnen Spaarne with that of the Bakenessergracht.
The Delray Connecting emerges out of the hell that is Zug Island with finished steel, coke, and other shit to be interchanged with CN at South Yard in Ecorse. In the background is Belanger interlocking which is still protected by DT&I searchlights. Although most of the hot mill operations at the Great Lakes Works have been indefinitely idled since 2020, steel processing and coke production continue at the plant, for now.
