Good Luck!
On July 12th, 2021, the three-day old Moon was close to the brightest “star” in the sky - planet Venus - as seen in the western sky, an astronomical phenomenon called conjunction. These events, including the Moon and bright planets, are quite common. If you zoom a lot into the photo, you may see the much dimmer planet Mars, just to the left and a little below Venus - I could not see it with the naked eye, due to its proximity to the much brighter Venus. Of course, these three worlds were very much separated in space - at the time of this conjunction, the Moon was about 387,000 Km away from the Earth, Venus was about 214 million Km and Mars about 372 million Km away. And a little above and to left of the Moon, the star named Regulus (The Lion’s heart) lies at 78 light years away or about 2 billion times further than the Moon! Better to stop these calculations…enjoy your summer!
This photo was taken 4 days before the great conjunction. On that day, the moon and the two planets could be in a single photo taken by using 500 mm lens (no trimming). It is clear that the apparent distance of the two planets was similar to the diameter of the moon; at the day of the great conjunction, the distance was diminished to about 1/4.
When you click once, you will see satellites of Jupiter. If twice, more clearly. In this photo the satellites were far from Saturn, while in the previous photo at the day of the great conjunction, the satellites were much closer to Saturn.
The present great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn occurred after about 400 years. Thus I put my birder's photographic system to a veranda of my house to capture the event. Jupiter with 4 satellites was under Saturn. The apparent distance between the two planets was about 1/4 of the diameter of the moon. In Nagoya, Japan

Four moons of Jupiter in perfect conjunction. Venus above.
(Double click to max zoom) Apologies for slight blur, was handheld.
I think this is a case of the photography gods smiling on me. This evening my wife informed me there were 2 very bright stars quite close together, it was not quite dark. I scoffed and mumbled something about me having no chance and then wandered out aimlessly with my camera. Julie pointed exactly where they were (in the South West) , then after much clueless messing around and a number of photographs later, I had one that I thought might be in focus.......
Imagine my surprise when I zoomed in and found this - LOL!
Looking it up just now, it seems Jupiter and Venus passed very close together tonight, I don't know if that was before or after this. I didn't catch that, but then again, you don't see this every day either.....

Shut all doors and windows and and better stay at home.
Conjunction (close approach) of the almost full moon (waning/98.2% illumination) and Jupiter in the night sky over Sapporo, Japan.
Camera: Canon EOS 80D.
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM.
Edited with GIMP. Composite of two images, one exposed at 1/800 s for the Moon, one at 1/250 s for Jupiter.
I had a beautiful afternoon in the valleys, today ...
have a lovely night, and a beautiful sunday :-)
Rare conjunction of Jupiter and Venus (the brighter).
While it may seem like the two planetary bodies are touching, they actually aren’t. They are around 600 million kilometres apart.
It is very likely to have clouds in Alberta for any celestial event of significance, no surprise if we are overcast for this episode of Moon and Mars conjunction. Here I have an image from last occurrence, You can see Mars at 11 O' Clock of moon.
My tribute to the most recent NASA perseverance Lander landing on the red planet.

¡Te deseo un buen Domingo y una buena semana por delante!
Super conjunction of these two planets on 20.12.20. Really had to boost the iso to get Jupiter’s moons. Didn’t think my camera would manage it

A few days after the conjunction we had a clear night that gave me the opportunity to have a go at capturing the conjunction of the planets and a glimpse of part of the milky way. I used a LED worklamp to light up the dinghy in the foreground. The light area on the right is from the Waikuku street lights. Going by my Sky Guide app the bright planets seen from bottom right going up are: Venus, Jupiter, and Mars. Neptune being a very dim planet is barely visible halfway between Jupiter and Mars. The bright spot further up near the top of the image is Saturn.
