GROANS HEARD IN GULLY.
MAN SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES.
Groans from the depths of Grafton Cully were heard by Mr. John Wilson Lambert, an employee of the "New Zealand "Herald" when crossing Grafton Bridge early this morning. After getting the help of the police and searching, a man named Victor Charles was found, and steps were at once taken to remove him to the Auckland Hospital.
The injured man is married, lived at Grey Lynn, and has two children. When examined it was found that despite a fall from the highest part of the bridge he had sustained only a broken arm and a broken leg. He was quite rational and could talk. During this morning his condition became more serious.
The injured man gradually sank and died this afternoon.
