Due to my health condition, I am unable to hold or stabilize a camera for extended periods of time. Additionally, using a tripod has never been enjoyable for me, as it would cause pain when trying to position it correctly and constantly bending over to check the viewfinder. Consequently, I have chosen to explore digital AI artwork as an alternative. I understand that this may not be everyone's cup of tea, as it diverges from traditional photography. However, I have always granted myself the freedom to exercise artistic license and pursue whatever brings me joy. Currently, digital AI artwork fulfills that purpose, at least for the time being.

I met this cute pup on Saturday to take his photos. This gorgeous Portuguese Cattle Dog, Ruckus is up for adoption at www.speakingofdogs.com
He has a heart condition and last I heard, there were no applications filled out for him.
He is just 7 months old, a fun rambunctious pup. His foster mom is lovely but I hope this beautiful boy finds his forever home soon.
The rains continue to fall. It rained on St Swithin's Day and so we expect another 40 days of it. As each drop of rain falls, I feel my fear and worries rise. I am once again picking our son up from the floor following a seizure induced fall. His new specialist epilepsy neurologist is seeing us soon and I am documenting his current condition in his ‘seizure diary’. It does not make good reading.
I fear how I will convey this crucial information. I can talk about epilepsy and autism as well as his other conditions fluently and with confidence. But this meeting will be about our son. When I talk about the pain and torment our son lives through each day, I am always overcome with emotion.
The diary will help, and it will contain thoughts and questions that I will refer to if I need prompts. I am not expecting anything in particular, we have been trying different things over many years now. But his condition is getting worse. In front of our very eyes, we see the changes.
My fears are as plentiful as the endless raindrops falling outside. I just hope this new neurologist listens to my story and commits to continuing to support us through whatever the future holds …
DESCRIPTION:
When we take a picture during a sunset , usually we are attracted by the bright colors we see in the west and rarely point the camera in the opposite direction, towards the east. Yet, if the condition are favorable (clear and transparent sky ) the show we would see would be just as beautiful. This photo, taken by Acireale, a city of Sicily located on a hill overlooking the Ionian Sea , wants to be a testimony. The color element that dominates and characterizes it is the pink band extended for about 20 degrees above the horizon, known as “ the belt of Venus”.
The belt of Venus is an atmospheric phenomenon due to backscattering of the red sunlight at sunset by the particles of the atmosphere that are on the opposite side of the sun.
Near the horizon, due to the shadow projected by the Earth, the belt progressively decreases in brightness and color until it disappears completely.
The phenomenon lasts a few minutes and is visible even at down, just before sunrise.
A serendipitous discovery by the roadside, just outside Forfar. Quite impressive - lovely geometrical layout, tower in good condition.

Water lilies are a well studied clade of plants because their large flowers with multiple unspecialized parts were initially considered to represent the floral pattern of the earliest flowering plants, and later genetic studies confirmed their evolutionary position as basal angiosperms. Analyses of floral morphology and molecular characteristics and comparisons with a sister taxon, the family Cabombaceae, indicate, however, that the flowers of extant water lilies with the most floral parts are more derived than the genera with fewer floral parts. Genera with more floral parts, Nuphar, Nymphaea, Victoria, have a beetle pollination syndrome, while genera with fewer parts are pollinated by flies or bees, or are self- or wind-pollinated Thus, the large number of relatively unspecialized floral organs in the Nymphaeaceae is not an ancestral condition for the clade.

The former monastery church of St. Verena stands high on a hill above Rot an der Rot.
Built between 1777-1786, it is in the transition from late baroque to classicism. In its basic structure, however, it still follows the Vorarlberg cathedral building scheme with the pillars in front and the gallery gallery behind. The decorations, however, are already indications of the emerging classicism. They are no longer ornate and playful, but follow a geometric arrangement.
Against the will of the convent, Abbot Mauritius Moritz decides to rebuild the church. When he dies he leaves behind a ruin and high debt. Between 1777 and 1779 Johann Baptist Laub built the eastern part of the church.
Abbot Moritz's successor, Abbot Willebold Held, sees it as his most urgent task to bring the building of the church to an end. In 1783 the foundation stone was finally laid.
In 1780, Andreas Meinrad from OW produced the late baroque fresco in the choir room. The frescoes in the nave and in the dome are the work of Januarius Zick. Franz Xaver Feichtmayer II and his older brother Simpert equip the interior with stucco. The high altar and the pulpit are also a work by Feichtmayer.
A highlight of this church is the choir stalls, a masterpiece of baroque carving. Created from 1691 - 1693 for the previous church. Andreas Etschmann and Ignatz Waibl, who also created the Buxheim choir stalls, could be the creators of the choir stalls.
In 1784 the choir stalls were taken over in the new church and equipped with choir organs in the classical style.
The Holzhey organ is also of high quality. In 1785 the organ builder was commissioned to manufacture a choir organ, which was completed two years later.
He also made the main organ, which was completed in 1793. It is one of four three-manual large organs made by Holzhey. It is one of the few large organs made by the organ builder, which is still almost in its original condition.
La Pique d'Endron (2472m), Pyrénées Ariégeoises, France
Type F11 and L for best viewing. You really need to zoom in to see the climbers.
This is a picture of my most recent hike in the Pyrenees, with my son, two of his friends and a mountain guide. As anticipated, my condition was not good enough for the final segment along the ridge up to the top, and I preferred to stay at Pic du Sarrazi, watching them climb and waiting for them to come back.

One or two roses in my garden are particularly stubborn and refuse to admit that winter approaches and most other rose plants have given up already!
The blue bits on the soil are dead petals that need to be sorted out and chucked away but my condition at present makes that an impossibility!

The rock hyrax (Procavia capensis), also called rock badger and Cape hyrax, is commonly referred to in South African English as the dassie. It is one of the four living species of the order Hyracoidea, and the only living species in the genus Procavia. Like all hyraxes, it is a medium-sized (~4 kg) terrestrial mammal, with short ears and tail.
The closest living relatives to hyraxes are the modern-day elephants and sirenians. The rock hyrax is found across Africa and the Middle East in habitats with rock crevices into which it escapes from predators. Hyraxes typically live in groups of 10–80 animals, and forage as a group. They have been reported to use sentries: one or more animals take up position on a vantage point and issue alarm calls on the approach of predators.
The rock hyrax has incomplete thermoregulation and is most active in the morning and evening, although its activity pattern varies substantially with season and climate. Adults make use of at least 21 different vocal signals. The most familiar signal is a high trill, given in response to perceived danger. Rock hyrax calls can provide important biological information such as size, age, social status, body weight, condition, and hormonal state of the caller, as determined by measuring their call length, patterns, complexity, and frequency.

Judging by the worn condition of this monarch, I'm guessing it was a returnee from spending the winter in Mexico. Not far away from this guy there was what looked like a new generation monarch feeding at the same time.
From the monarch migration tracking web site, it looks like we do have overlapping generations in this area during the spring migration: journeynorth.org/monarchs/news/spring-2020/04302020-eggs-...
Full Moon
What a clear and calm evening to watch the full moonrise over Coit tower tonight. Totally lucky snapshot in such condition, no wind, no clouds about in perfect night :). There were many photogs at this pier tonight that may have the similar shot as this one.

Before knowing the weather condition of the Himalayan region we should understand its geography. The Himalayan region covers an area of 2,250 km with an average width of 200 km.
The forest belt of the Himalayan region consists of Oak, Rhododendron, Birch, Pine, Deodar, and Fir. And the monsoon season in this region lasts for mid June till the end of September. The Himalayas influences the meteorological conditions in the Indian subcontinent to the south and in the Central Asian highlands to the north to a great extent. It acts a climatic divider circulating the air and water system to a great extent. Because of its altitude and location it blocks the passage of the cold winds coming from the north to the Indian sub continent thereby making India's climate much more moderate. It also influences the rainfall pattern in India. The combined effect of rainfall, latitude and altitude largely influences the forests belts in the Himalayan region. The rainfall is mostly recorded during the monsoon time of June to September but it decreases as you travel from east to west. The snow-capped ranges of the Himalayas stretch 2, 250 km from the Namcha Barwa to Nanga Parbat on the Indus. The range extends from east to west up to central-Nepal and then takes a southeast to northwest direction.

Taken in very dark conditions with the RF800mm lens which isn't renowned for its low light performance.
This is a very light variant and looked to be in good condition. There was another SEO sat on the adjacent post and this one dive bombed it, chasing it away before calmly circling round and alighting on the next post. Wonderful to see - although I sadly missed a shot of the action.

This is the second sunrise we had in Enchantments during our 4 day 3 nights backpacking trip back in early Oct when larches were in peak condition, and this was again another memorizing one to us.
I scouted this location first in Aug during my one-day through hike. Back then the weather was terrible but I knew this location has so much potential to be epic under the right condition. The day before we shoot this sunrise, we came back again to reconfirm the route to get here and in the next morning we arrived at this spot 25 minutes before sunrise. This image represents the best moment from that morning when the sun rose and lit up the larches in front of us, and it gives you an idea of how amazing the Enchantments core zone is during fall time.
While painting another wall in the local area, artist Ling sought permission from local residents to also paint this wall via a local Facebook residents group. Permission was granted, on the condition that the wall included the "The Pope Smokes Dope" line seen at the right hand end of the wall. This was a nod to an old tag that was present on the original wall.
