While helmets may prevent skull fractures, they don't prevent concussions.
This device, fixed to a hockey, football, ski, snowboard, or lacrosse helmet provides an immediate alert that a player has suffered a blow to the head which may result in a concussion.
Shockbox records date, time, hit direction and uses the "Peak G" force method of head impact analysis to send a visually color coded alert to an Android, Blackberry or iPhone via Bluetooth.
This particular hockey helmet was featured in the November 28, 2012 CBC program Dragon's Den and used by Bruce Croxon.
