Sitting with my wife on a terrace enjoying a coffee, this endearing young man all of a sudden stood poking his nose right under my nose...

Brrrr this was so cold. 16 degrees to be exact.
This is also my submission for Concept Collaboration's February theme, Spiral.
From another world. Concept Collaboration London was soo much fun!! Met new friends and certainly broadened my photography views.

Fourteenth (and final) image in a series of images based on the spiral of anxiety and depression.
I hope you have enjoyed following this series, and I hope I have concluded it successfully for you all. This series, the book, and the theme mean a lot to me personally; I hope some of you can find your own meanings and interpretations in the images.

The other week we were hoping for snow near where I live, which would have been perfect for this concept, but not much fell which was disappointing. The shoot almost didn't happen, but we decided to relocate and it turned out pretty well.
Thank you to my amazing model Aimee for enduring the cold and just being a trooper in general!
Walt Whitman (1819-1892)
As Adam, early in the morning,
Walking forth from the bower, refresh’d with sleep;
Behold me where I pass—hear my voice—approach,
Touch me—touch the palm of your hand to my Body as I pass;
Be not afraid of my Body.
Walt Whitman.

[Week 13/52] - Theme: Close Call
Didn't get a chance to upload this yesterday evening since it was Easter... have had it ready for a few days though :) Hope you all enjoyed your day!
So this weeks theme was fun to work on - my initial ideas consisted of a lot of movement, such as a near-miss accident, but nothing that was reflecting how I feel. Then I started to reflect on how I've been feeling and applying that to the theme, and this was the idea that cropped up. It was definitely time for another conceptual self portrait photomanip, something I haven't done in a while. Always lots of fun building up the composition to slowly bring the picture in my head to life c:
Little explorer me in a big, big world. Trying my chances at something different; something more challenging... getting close to the edge...
I've entered this into May's Concept Collaboration entitled 'The Grande Adventure'.
"Sablier" is French for hourglass, the theme of my new serie of photos.

I went to a ConceptCollaboration.com meet up in Seattle and had the absolute best day. I don't usually click so well with people, but everyone was so amazing! And I got to meet David Talley!!
Emile was an amazing model with an infectious laugh. I stuck with her most of the day. :)

This photo can be interpreted as a way to call to task the environmental crisis we find ourselves in today. The darkness surrounding Mother Nature as she attempts to continue to reproduce her beautiful tree and foliage.
Society convinced her that she will never be pretty enough, or perfect. It has driven her to depression, and when she died her ghost always in search for the perfect body parts to replace her now non-physical form. Trapped in limbo caused by superficiality.
I missed the first month of Concept Collaboration, but I'm joining in because, although I don't have time for a 52, once a month is doable and will keep me in the swing of things, and it sounds like a really cool project!
This photo is for the theme "The Spiral" and somewhat meant to illustrate the struggle to stay on top of the spiral of everything and take the high road without getting sucked into the angriness of things that make you angry. I'm hoping that's a coherent sentence.
It's also about pirates because I took this in a forest on Ocracoke Island, North Carolina where Blackbeard apparently used to hang out. All of the trees are warped and twisted and haunted-looking and now I want a forest just like it in my backyard. Arrr, vineys.

Last day of work.
I spent two hours making the crown and trying to take this picture but I needed to breathe after a week of study.
From yesterday's Concept Collaboration in Hampstead Heath. Met some very talented and inspiring people. Photo of David Talley with the trusty mirror.

This photo was created as part of Concept Collaboration for the month of February with the theme "The Spiral." This is the beauty shot that goes with the image "Turbulence."
There are spirals all around us and when I think of this action in the natural world, I think of things like the ebb and flow of the current that changes the otherwise glassy surface of the water. I imagine a girl dancing that causes this turbulence as she glides, twists and spins across the surface.

Week 4 of Still Flickring! A conceptual portrait project where artists recreate old works as chosen by others!
This week my friend Alondra chose my red suitcase photo (see comments) which I created just over four years ago during my 52 weeks project. Crazy!
I've learned a lot more about colour since then, and I use very different tones in my editing now! But I think it still keeps the spirit of the original. This concept is all about the beauty of light. When we open our eyes to see it, we are home.
Also I've been wanting to make a photo with this orange tree in our backyard for so long! I'm sure it'll feature again...
