One hundred years ago. HACK THE PLANET! +rofl+

7th grade makers demonstrate their fairground games to their 6th grade peers.

In 2014 a handful of companies in Boulder thought, “wouldn’t it be cool if the whole town celebrated Computer Science Education Week and Hour of Code?”

 

And so they did just that! There was a week long, town-wide celebration of technology, innovation, and computer science educational fun for parents, kids, and teachers.

 

Programs were open to kids as young as 4 and as old as high school. Apps were made, robots were built, Scratch was learned, and a lot of families exclaimed that this kind of learning disguised as festive fun was just what they needed to help their kids explore CSED.

In June, I got to join five esteemed women to talk on a "Women in Tech" panel for the ProjectCSGirls National Gala. I was aware I was an animated speaker, but it was still interesting to me to see pictures of HOW animated.

Alumni, faculty, staff and graduate students enjoyed a reception and BBQ celebrating 50 years of the Department of Computer Science. Held at the historic Hart House on June 18, 2015, Ed Lazowska (PhD 1977) shared with attendees his experiences as a graduate student in computer science at U of T.

Just.. inspired by a picture take a friend of mine, of her Computer Science books.. well these are some of mines.. mixed with shadows

Computer Science Club Hackathon for Social Good. Students from Cal Poly Humboldt and CR, local nonprofits, and industry mentors over a weekend develop tech-driven solutions for real challenges faced by our local Humboldt nonprofits. All project ideas will come directly from these organizations, ensuring that the work being done has a tangible, positive impact on our community.

Touro College alums currently working at Goldman Sachs, along with other Goldman Sachs employees, hosted LAS-Flatbush, Lander College for Women, and Lander College for Men students at their world headquarters this past week.
