Finally got around to cleaning off the old "ancient" 233 computer, just logged for the last time... [sentimental moment, tears]

So now it is officially just a bunch of plastic waiting to be recycled. And the keyboard is equally useless, it won't even work in the ports of the new computer

Out with the old. Pulling the existing PSU, Motherboard, CPU, and HDD out of the case.

This is Amy's main computer. She also has a notebook for college.

She did not want a case with lights, but I eventually talked her into getting one with enough fans to keep the inside cool. They just do not make them without glowly lights at a decent price anymore :(

Why not do it now? Wish I had.

Update - It's Easter and my younger son, the computer tech, is home. It's fixed and I'm doing a backup NOW!!!

These pics show my office in Berlin, Jan through May 2012. I was a visiting researcher at Humboldt University, Department of Social Sciences. The office was/is in Ziegelstrasse 13c. The place is actually really nice, I just try to maximize its spookiness on the photos.

With the pieces cut and all mortises and tenons made, Mel can test the fit and look of the desk frame. The curve on the bottom rail turned out pretty nicely. The grain of the wood will change a lot with the sanding and finishing that is yet to be done.

I learned basic from these tapes, from magazines, and by trial and error. my favorite program was one that used carefully placed pixels to flash colored "confetti" on the tv screen with a Happy Birthday message. Yes, I wrote it. I was 11.

OK so where's the computer?

This was the computer Dell sent me in December. Luckily by the end of February it was finally all sorted out.

(Please note the carpet is not my choice)

I think we are going to have LOTS of these in Texas this year.
