How to Measure your Heart Rate with Android Application? You have lots of options to measure your heart rate. One of the easiest options is to measure your pulse by placing two fingers on the thumb side of the wrist until you feel the pulse beating there. To get an accurate reading, count the pulse for one minute but at the very least for 30 seconds. If you count it by 30 seconds, multiple it by two to get your heart rate. There are other locations on your body where you can measure your heart rate: the neck, under the biceps or over the abdomen are just some locations where this is possible. While easy to do, since you do not need any special tools to measure your heart rate besides a clock, it is not the most comfortable option, especially when you are in a noisy environment or one where it is difficult to concentrate. Instant Heart Rate is a free application for Android that measures your heart rate in a matter of seconds. It uses the camera of the device to do so. How? All you have to do is hold your finger against the camera lens for the measuring to start. It usually takes about fifteen seconds before the heart rate is displayed on the screen. So how is this done and how accurate is the measuring? According to the developers, it is tracking color changes on the fingertip. These color changes are directly linked to the pulse, and it is therefore possible to measure the heart rate using the camera. Medical Pulse Oximeters, those little devices that you put your finger into to measure your heart rate use the very same technology to do so. The heart rate is shown on a graph that is divided into green, yellow and red parts, indicating good, average and problematic heart rates. Generally speaking, a heart rate between 60 to 100 beats per minute should not be of concern, while too low heart rates can either mean that the person is well-trained, or that there is something wrong if that is not the case. How to Hide Selected Drives in PC? Do you want to Hide specific drives (partitions) like C, D, E, F, and DVD, Bluray disks in PC? Then this video demonstration helps you to get this. If you would like to hide any of the disk drives inside Windows Explorer, there's a tiny freeware utility called NoDrives Manager that will help. Open the NoDrives utility, select one or more drive letters (like C: or Z:) that should be kept hidden and save the changes. The next time you restart your Windows computer, the selected drives will no longer be available inside Windows Explorer. This can also be used for hiding the CD or DVD drives attached to your computer. Internally, the tool simply modifies the Windows registry to make the selected drive invisible inside Windows Explorer though advanced users may still access the drive and its files through the Command Prompt. Later, if you wish to toggle the visibility of these hidden drives, just open the NoDrives Manager program again, deselect the hidden drives and save the changes. Please do note that you will either have to restart your computer or relaunch the explorer.exe process for the changes to be applied. The amount of software on the average computer that wants to access the internet for updates or because it requires internet access to function is growing all the time. Unless you have a super fast internet connection, when you have something that requires a lot of bandwidth, it will often slow other things down that are also using the internet. For instance, downloading files through a web browser and playing an online game at the same time could limit the game's performance and make it nearly unplayable with high pings because the browser is hogging the bandwidth leaving very little for the game. The best way to get round this problem is to limit the internet download speed for the web browser process so that it doesn't hog the connection. Certain types of applications such as download managers or bit-torrent clients often have some form of maximum upload or download rate setting so as not to flood the connection and let things like web browsers or Skype work OK without too much problem. Most other types of program that access the internet do not have a similar function though. A solution to this problem is to limit the Internet bandwidth by using traffic shaping software so you can prioritize which applications can access as much of the connection as they like, while others will have to wait until it's available. Software such as NetLimiter, cFosSpeed, Net-Peeker and SoftPerfect Bandwidth Manager are good for this task. Here I demonstrated NetBalancer software which provides this functionality.
