While sitting at my computer doing grades I noticed fluttering outside my window. I got up and looked and it was a red tail hawk catching something in the grass. When I stood up to look through the window the hawk stopped and looked at me then grabbed out of the grass a good sized glass snake. He then flew a short distance to the tree in my front yard. Readjusted his load and then flew off. A nice break from work.
here you can see the heat sink ... it's considered standard when building your own rig to add your own upgraded heat sink ... the ones that come with the processors are bare minimum ... perhaps if my machine was always open to the air like this it would work ...

So, yeah. I was lucky enough to get a slot on my college's radio station, WMCN, and my first show is this Thursday (and every Thursday after) from 3-4pm CST. Fortunately for any of you looking for something different to listen to while you sit mindlessly near a computer, our radio station now streams online.
My show is called "Aaron's Alphabet Soup," and the premise is that each week I play a group of artists or songs specifically related to one letter of the alphabet. For instance, my first show Thursday will be the letter "A," and I'll play Andrew Bird, The Appleseed Cast, Alexi Murdoch, Arcade Fire, etc. The next day's show will bring about the letter "B," and I get to play Brett Dennen, Barenaked Ladies, Ben Harper, Belle and Sebastian, The Bella Fayes, etc. For some of the harder letters, I'll have days where I group a few letters together. I'm already planning the last show, with UWXYZ as the theme, so i can play as much U2, Weakerthans and Wilco as I can to make up for the relative lack of music beginning with Z or X.
My musical tastes seem to lend itself to the quasi-pretentious obscure-college indie rock scene, but hey, I'm going to try and open up some avenues and play some newer music, push some boundaries, you know.
Links to streaming online can be found at our website. We begin broadcasting 8am Central Time this Thursday.

This is the keyboard of Daryl's laptop, which I usually use because Daryl is always on the desktop. There are a lot of things to like about this computer--it does have a fast processor and a really nice screen--but it can be equally annoying.
One big design flaw? The numbers on the top row of the keypad are done in orange. So you can't see them in most situations. Gah!
(PS: This shot was taken with my Fuji F10, which is actually new to me... my old F10, which I like to keep in my purse at all times, was having many problems, and I saw a used one on KEH cameras for SO cheap, so I snatched it up. I'm really happy with my purchase.)
