James Kelly, right, a computer engineering and electrical engineering undergraduate, and Miles Hanbury, left, a computer engineering undergraduate, work together in one of the EECS labs on the North Campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

Their current project is to design as “smart” aquarium, one that will allow a pet owner to have video streamed to their wearable device, as well as to automatically feed the fish when traveling. This is their project for the EECS 373 Expo scheduled for early December.

Dude, I got a Dell!

Needed a new laptop after frying my USB ports on the old one... went with this Dell because I could get it with Windows XP installed (instead of Vista).

Step 1. set up network.

Step 2. download Firefox and appropriate plugins.

Step 3. download images from camera card.

Now I can set about the very dull task of transferring data.... then Kiddo will get the injured laptop for her own use.

In the back: the monitor of my first computer, a Windows desktop named Emu. On the left, my ´05 iBook G4, known as Mamka (Мамка). And on the right, my newest baby, an EeePC 900A which i have dubbed Yozh (Еж), currently running some Linux distro which i think is Asus-specific and which i don´t particularly like yet. If it doesn´t grow on me in the next few days it´ll be replaced with some other Linux flavour.

It uses lesser computers as a seat.

What one takes pictures of when there is way too many cloudy days and one is itching to go outside and take pictures!

I'm also sorry that I didn't pay more attention to this. It involved cooking oil somehow which I would have liked to see. They were accepting computer donations which immediately takes hazardous materials out of the waste stream. They were routed to different projects throughout the faire including the oil-related one which was to assemble the workable donations into a supercomputer. Does anyone know how that worked out?

This afternoon my media pc decided to have a few problems, so I had to spend some time scanning the disk for errors and fixing the operating system. Here is a shot of it with the cover popped off

I miss the Network Operations Center. This computer room just doesn't have the same zing!

The CoCo I remember as having an excellent version of BASIC that could support graphics better than anything else I'd used. The keyboard, however, was terrible. It spawned the CoCo 2 and CoCo 3.

It's a comfy bed:) Also, I bought the tilting bed support from Ikea so I could watch my computer from bed. Best investment I ever made.

Not sure what he was selling

Streaming the Apple WWDC 2013 keynote. This was the first year people could watch a live stream. But you had to use Safari on a Mac.

Made by Mattel in 1989....

Small scale figures, about 2 inches tall...

Kind of like MASK toys , with a little TRON thrown in the story line.... But with the miniature twist in scale. like some Transformers did.

Like Megatron turning into a hand gun ...

Soundwave into a Walkman, etc....

Several with PC boards that turn into a vehicle ... But other things too... A Pepsi can that houses a flying machine...A soccer ball trophy, pencil sharpener, flash light, calculator, digital clock, video tape... And the Computer that turns into a base ! A book base for the bad guys ..... I never had any of these, back in the day.... But I saw the little figures around for years . And did not know what they were from.....And picked these up recently.....I like the figures !

Looks like 12 o 13 figures with house hold items in this line ...

Sort of cool ! Very 1980s to me :)

One of Laurel's favorite things to play on the computer is the coloring subgame in Winnie-the-Pooh Preschool. She's wearing headphones because the Disney games we have all have irritating music on loop.

Acorn made some great computers - I still have fond memories of the BBC Micro and the version of BASIC it ran. The Electron was another good computer from the company.
